The DA line of the day to the judge “this affects the rest of my life”. Dan is dead! He has no earthly life to contemplate anything for.

The judge knows it affects the rest of her life because all defendants are in the same position. “You are no different than anyone else who is considering to testify”. I love that because I think he sees right through her.

Again today, she was trying to get her way. “I haven’t had enough time judge”. She literally thinks that she can manipulate the judge, jury and anyone else to her benefit.

And no one cares if she has gained a third of her weight!

IMO she has gone through life manipulating other people, including her children, so I'm not surprised she thinks it would work on the judge, too. Guess what, Donna - the judge has seen a lot of manipulative defendants and he can see right through you. Oh, BTW, you're not that special, despite your wealth and social standing.

Hoping for no surprises this morning so things can proceed smoothly. I know, however, not to get my hopes up too much since DA and Jackie are wild cards.

What if she comes back and wants to testify? Will the judge allow it after she said she didn't want to "right now"? I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this took place this morning.

I would guess Judge Everett has already prepared himself for that possibility. She’s not fooling him one bit.

She is not fooling anyone, you are correct. But he would likely decide to let her testify just to prevent an appeal issue that could be big. Apparently, the defense attorneys saying that they had not adequately prepped her for the decision is jaw dropping to seasoned defense attorneys. Then she qualifies her statement (in a daze) by saying “at this time.” I don’t think she wants to testify anymore but part of me would not be surprised if she indicated she wanted to in hopes the judge shut her down for her best chance at a decent appeal. This is insanity!

Maybe she is hoping to catch Georgia off guard, but that cannot be done! More likely she sees how the jury is resigned against their circus act at the defense table the past week, and hopes not testifying could win her another bite at the apple next year? All these ideas are convoluted but so were Donna and Charlie believing they should celebrate when they figured out the bump was law enforcement!

We have heard one witness describe DA's glee about WA dropping the separation news on DA moments before he went on stage to deliver a lecture. He went home to an empty home, and didn't know where his son's were living for some time. Sheer malice, they just couldn't help themselves. Stupid too, because this sort of behavior was hardly likely to lead to DA doing them any favors in the future. (They also knew who he was too, I'm sure they understood the effect this treatment would be likely in DA) WA just couldn't be an adult about it. A trained lawyer, and she leaves with Pearl Harbor? She was big mad, and it made her big stupid.

This is not to say that the disgusting cast that supported her were not essential elements. Perhaps DA really is the worst of the lot, oh, I could never make my mind up. I've watched more of this trial than of the earlier ones, I have more time now. It sometimes seems like a scene from hell, her expensive lawyers inept and ill prepared. Her children, both estranged, testifying against her. I almost wept at the sadness of Rob's testimony, Honest Abe rejected, and then believing your family murdered your brother in law. Wendy, under immunity and not giving the best performance of her life. She must be anxious about being arrested. Certainly it is something about which there is much debate. If she is not arrested in the short term future, she might be later. It must be very difficult to manage the boys best interests at the moment, and I hope this is something that has been attended too, although think why we are here.

The absolute lack of remorse takes my breath away. DA has continued to commit crimes whilst she awaits trial. At said trial, her lawyer seems to think that there was nothing to see here with the divorce, (contentious?, noo, I wouldn't say that), and also that DA behaved so very badly during said divorce that he almost had it coming.

If any of the Adelson's had designed their own personal hell's-perhaps in a creative writing lesson-I'm sure what we are seeing are worst. Such a contrast to the almost heaven like aspects to their lives beforehand. Many of us have tried to compute-why- and come away bewildered. I think, had they got away with DM's murder, that they would murder again in the future. I think they are really dangerous people.

I'm sick of them. Today I watched bits of last night trial, but also gardening vids. I can't wait for it all to be over. Which at least for DA, won't be long. She can go away and rot in a concrete cell forever.

Isn’t it interesting that Wendi claimed to not know the details of his lectures, yet knew the precise time he was getting up on stage? No respect for anyone that may have been there looking forward to his speaking.

Interesting that Last night Mentour lawyer brought up concern about TJ’s “leaked” info that there was to be a plea deal involving Donna, ..he thinks that could sway one juror and he suggests that may have been done on purpose.

Defense is trying to get at least one juror to hang on they don't feel that the state proved beyond a reasonable doubt on first- degree only.

I have been saying that I think the defense was leaking to anyone who would listen that Donna was rethinking testifying so that the state could not focus solely on closing arguments last night. Even though they were absolutely prepared to cross Donna yesterday, they still could not focus on the one thing. IMO on purpose by defense. Smart decision by Donna. She is not likable.

Georgia looking very sharp in her vermillion suit this morning, ready to deal the coup de grace to the defense.

I always hope for a 2 hour verdict but I'll be satisfied if they come back tomorrow after a pizza lunch. :)

Good morning, all,

Why did the state agree to removing the instructions re: 2nd degree murder or manslaughter? Seems advantageous to the defense, but not to the state?

Also, what is Donna writing? Does she think she can write her own jury instructions/ verdict form, etc?

Yes, getting rid of the lesser includeds.

I also think this is a Donna decision as if convicted of a lesser charge she would still be sentenced to prison.

She’s looking rough today.

She is most likely writing things down for her attorneys closing. Probably stuff she already told them but she thinks if she writes it again that they will focus on it.

She has her pouty sad face on despite the judge telling her not to show emotion.

There are many reasons for an appeal because of her dumb attorneys.

During their sidebar, the Judge was talking directly to DA at times, I hope he was making sure she had not changed her mind and was ready to proceed with closing arguments.

Agree. Yes, but it would be much easier for the jurors I think to come up with manslaughter say or something, but at her age, it all sort of amounts to the same thing anyway. I think it would matter with say katie, but not at Donna's age. Hopefully they will realize that and not go with a not guilty because they don't think that first degree was proven.

She does look like the Pepto is probably flowing 😆

Today I am overwhelmed by how terrible this family is.
The Evilsons. I was just talking about this with a friend yesterday. The scariest people are the ones that you least suspect. On the outside, you would think what a great family- well educated, successful, etc, and look at the rot underneath. Like a bad tooth, they all need to be extracted. 😆

This delay is supposedly due to a sidebar

LOL, testifying does affect her life going forward but so did helping to murder DM. She should have thought of that. I have no sympathy whatsoever for her dilemma. Hope she is miserable....JMOO
She still thinks that she is special.

Why is the fact that one of the jailhouse informants had not been called by the defence so important?
