This level of vitriol against Wendi was not present in the 1st or even 2nd trials. During that period, the focus of trial watchers was on Charlie and Donna. The obsession with Wendi started after the proliferation of YouTube grifters. I’m thinking particularly of 2 male YouTubers. I fully believe it is these particular YouTubers’ projection that has infected many in the J4D community. With the way parasocial relationships work, it is no surprise that many people have bought into this narrative unquestioningly.

To be clear, I am not a Wendi fan either. I think she knew and she’s a person of low morals/character.

It’s unfortunate that Georgia can’t even take a breath to enjoy the verdict before everyone is jumping down her throat about a Wendi arrest. By treating Wendi as the ultimate get, Donna’s verdict is diminished. And that’s pretty sad because Donna IS the ultimate get in this murder.

Got ya. I still think his statement was intentionally ambiguous and nothing we can hold him to--and that was by design. He had to say what he said and I don’t interpret it as meaning there will be another arrest anytime 'soon'. If there is a something ‘new’ uncovered in their active investigation that gets them over the hump, perhaps an arrest will be forthcoming--and I do wonder how active they really are investigating this at this current stage?

I know there’s a heightened belief that Wendi’s arrest is imminent. Time will tell.

The fever has been heightening since before Donna's trial. Donna's trial and conviction has already lost its lustre. And inevitably, they have to ask the guests the favorite question that gets asked a million times in their chat "When will Wendi be arrested?" Jack Campbell is pushing back by saying his prosecutors are literally getting sick. Haha. SMH

I think you took a lot of liberties with that interpretation . I heard him say they aren’t going to stop with the investigation and he isn’t sure where it will lead them. Where are you getting “we need no more evidence”?. IMO, what he said is right inline with something I’d expect him to say based on the fact that Wendi hasn’t been arrested more than 11 years after Dan’s murder and there is a lot of public pressure on his office. There is absolutely no reason to further delay her arrest if they are confident they can meet the burden of proof - I have said for a LONG time they are not confident they can meet the burden. The excuse in social media that they need Wendi to testify in Donna’s trial can no longer be used

Yes, a Wendi indictment will be the golden ticket for YouTube content creators that primarily focus on this case now that Donna has been convicted. Without a Wendi indictment, it will be interesting to see how long Joel, and others, can generate interest without pivoting to a new case. I would imagine there is a limited runway for YouTube content creators of ‘decent’ viewership (a couple of months) on the Dan Markel case without an indictment. If no indictment, I’m sure they'll get some views, but it will exponentially decrease as the weeks roll on by. If a content creators primary focus is this case, they better be praying for an indictment if they are relying on YouTube revenue.

This young man — Juror #6 — is very impressive. Evan struck me as sensible, intelligent, and wanting to do the right thing. He seems to have a great sense of discretion. Everything Evan shared about the jury was very reassuring — sounds like they all took their jobs seriously, followed instructions, and greatly respected Judge Everett. MOO.

Evan even disclosed that this was such a powerful experience that he has changed his major and plans to go to law school, hopefully at FSU!

I’m convinced that many of the people obsessively asking when Wendi will be arrested haven’t watched any of the trials. They don’t listen to the evidence or the arguments closely. They’re just there to hang out and “fight for justice.” They watch these YouTube shows and they pick up on the narrative and repeat it like good soldiers. It gets the hosts attention and keeps the drum beating which gets more clicks. It’s vacuous engagement. This is why Websleuths is so great. It doesn’t have the parasocial aspect to it. People pay attention to the evidence and facts.

Some of us don't expect the prosecution to be 100 percent sure of success before indicting. 80 percent is good enough. Especially when there is no prospect of new evidence arriving.

Prosecutors have a winning circumstantial case in my opinion, but it's not a slam dunk. They want slam dunks. We want the best available shot, even a long jumper.

People pay attention to the evidence and facts.

They do. But there is a huge lack of understanding and comprehension of what is and what isn't evidence plus the importance of circumstantial evidence. So even someone who has followed the case closely and is cognisant of all the evidence can be clueless as to the strength of the case against WA.

And on the flip side a lot of youtubers have made a big deal about some of the circumstantial evidence, giving it more importance than it deserves.
