Authorities say a man accused of fatally shooting two people and wounding six others during a shooting last month at Florida State University has been discharged from a Tallahassee hospital and charged with murder.

A man accused of fatally shooting two people and wounding six others during a shooting last month at Florida State University was discharged from a Tallahassee hospital on Monday and charged with murder, authorities said.

Phoenix Ikner, 20, was booked into the Leon County Detention Facility on two counts of first-degree murder and seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. He was then transferred to a jail in neighboring Wakulla County, which is standard procedure when an inmate is related to a Leon County deputy.

He’s human garbage, as are the people who enabled him. He likely doesn’t feel remorse for the people he murdered and lives he destroyed. I hope it’s safe to assume he will be behind bars for the rest of his life, though that’s not guaranteed these days.

Retired teacher here. 36 years in the high school profession. Taught 4 murderers, plus a few who are incarcerated for various other reasons. Think to mafia days and contract killers and wonder how anyone call just kill. Think Stephen Paddock and the Las Vegas shooting that killed 60, personally wounded 413 people he did not know with still no known reason. Yes, I taught really good people, but there are bad apples.

That is really disturbing.
