Noting locations.

Jones Loop Road, Peace River Seafood, Prairie Creek Bridge. Google Maps

@margarita25, here is your magic number again. 22.7 miles.
I’m not understanding your map. Can you clarify why Jones Loop Rd? That’s by the Punta Gorda Airport. Gage lives on Washington Loop Rd. near Praire Creek. Thanks!

Sure. To clarify...I screwed up. I have no idea where I got Jones Loop. See correction below. My apologies.

A body is being recovered from a creek in Punta Gorda. No info available as of yet on the body. Looks like they were still trying to recover when the article was posted. Have to wonder if it is Gage.

Body found in river near Prairie Creek Bridge in Punta Gorda
Updated to add:

“Deputies have confirmed the victim is a white man. They do not know his age.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet that the man's name will not likely be released for several days due to the condition of his body.

His cause of death is unknown and an investigation is ongoing.“

Area where the body was located is NOT where you go after dark due to wildlife.

Charlotte authorities investigating body found on Prairie Creek
[...]

A civilian boater observed the body of a white male in the water two miles down the creek and called it into authorities at 9:07 a.m., according to CCSO spokesperson Katie Heck.

The agency’s marine unit and dive team arrived to recover the body. CCSO’s Crime Scene Unit and detectives with their Major Crimes Unit also arrived near Washington Loop Road, where crime scene tape was put up.

There were an estimated 20 deputies on-site investigating, and ultimately it was several hours before the body was recovered from the water.

The sheriff’s office is treating all of Prairie Creek as a crime scene, Heck said.

I’m hoping the media is going to pick this up and run with it. There’s not been much locally. In addition to an increase in the Reward (now $2,000) there is a vigil scheduled:

Please join our family and friends this Saturday March 30th @ 8 pm for a candle light prayer vigil to
“Bring Gage Home"
At the field next to the USA Store on the corner of Washington Loop and US 17, Punta Gorda.
I did not see any media coverage for this but the photos posted on the Find Gage Jackson page look like they had a nice turnout.

Someone has arranged for a Meal Train which is very thoughtful. I had never heard of this website before but it appears to be a great way to organize meal prep assistance, outside of church volunteers.

It’s hard to believe his roommate knows nothing about what happened or who he left with...

Welcome to WS FLbeach1977!

Agreed and if the roommate didn’t actually know who picked GJ up, was he able to get a description of the person or vehicle? Plus, why is the missing $300 important? Maybe GJ earned tips from pulling a double shift that day.

Sadly, there was a ton of drama online regarding GJs juvenile record being published and the crime(s) related to that. This young man grew up in the area, he knew better than to go near bodies of water at night, especially during gator mating season.

The medical examiners report will be interesting. Did GJ go into the water alive? I strongly suspect not. The creek area he was found in doesn’t have a deep launch area, its for small boats, kayaks, etc.

His family loved him regardless and they deserve answers. No matter how angry you are at someone’s behavior, violence is never the solution.

Exactly!!! He has a family who loves him unconditionally and deserve answers, they are good people and in no way deserve that pain they are enduring on top of the unimaginable pain of losing a child. The things people are saying are irrelevant.....nobody even knows if what happened is in anyway related to the charges he had & bottom line is somebody is walking around in our community capable of truly horrendous things. I hope to god law inforcement is doing their job and investigating without prejudice because regardless of his past he was loved and his family deserves justice. I hope all of his close friends have been offered a lie detector to see who is willing and who isn’t because one of them knows something.

I also agree that 300 hundred dollars missing was brought up so quickly as if that’s the first thing you’d notice or mention when your best friend is missing.

I don’t know; if my best friend had $300 cash on him and disappeared that might be the first thing I mentioned too.
