Glad to have you here, Robert. Thank you very much for joining us.

Has LE checked local hospitals and doctors for anyone coming in with a bite on their hand during the week after the crime being committed? Possibly stitches were needed?

  • #63
Good idea, Littledeer...which I could access that information...hopefully Robert reads this and asks the detective about it...I never got a response from her.

ncgator - nice to have you here and my sincere condolences on your great loss.

If you don't mind, could you give us a little detail on what exactly your sister did as an arborist? I imagine she came into contact with many people if she worked in the field. Can you tell us if she worked mainly development sites or was the tree business more geared to private home owners?

Thank you all for your kind words. As I have said in letters to the editor in Gainesville and to reporters, I would not wish for this to happen to my worst enemy. It is amazing how ones perspective changes when an event like this happens in ones life.

I would love to give you all more specific information on what the police have and have not done, but I need to be very cautious on what I do say. I will take your ideas and questions to the lead detective, but I can't reveal certain things because they wish to maintain some information. They have a valid concern that if certain things you ask about were, or were not, done and the killer is trolling the site then it might give him/her a heads up on things.

So please continue to bring me ideas. I have passed on several to the lead detective and we have spoken about them in some detail. That is about all I can say about the police.

As you know, Heather was employed by a tree service in Gainesville. While she was an employee, she in large part ran this company. She was the one to generate sales and deal with the permitting process. She sent the crews to job sites and was responsible for almost all administrative duties.

The tree service business is a male dominated industry, but she enjoyed what she did and was largely accepted and respected. I can tell you with a matter of fact that when Sgt. Kameg made his comment about the person is highly regarded in the community he was referring to my sister. This is something I asked the police and they very clearly wanted me to let you all know that it was my sister he was referring to.

Again, thanks for your ideas. Keep them coming.

okay sleuthers. We need to keep those ideas going for ncgator!!!!.

ncgator: Thanks for responding. We fully appreciate the fact that you cannot divulge certain information as anyone can be trolling here. Maybe a more secured forum can be obtained for you and for those of us who want to discuss certain matters with you in a private setting.

Any suggestions anyone?

Littledeer,

I think we should keep things as is..everything that can be released, has. The detectives know about this forum...

Quick thank you to all of you who are still keeping up with this thread...I was worried....you guys are excellent.

Truthful:

Okay. No problem. I was asking for advice if anyone thought that was a good idea.

We need to review from the beginning and see if we can come up with some fresh ideas. Places that haven't been checked at, people, etc. Has it been said what kind of acceralent was used to start the fire? I need to review myself obviously.

It seems from ncgator that she was respected by her male peers at her place of employment. Doesn't mean that there wasn't one male who was feeling slighted by having to be told by a female where to work that day and what to do.

Welcome to Websleuths, NCGator, and my deepest condolences for your loss of your sister and niece.
Hopefully, we can help get this case solved, and justice for Heather and Kira.

Welcome ncgator! I am so sorry for your loss! I hope this case gets solved soon. Heather and Kira deserve justice.

Did Kira ever go to work with Heather?

MCDRAW:

I wouldn't think that Heather would take Kira to work if it's a "male" orientated job. I know I would feel uncomfortable having my daughter around that many males.

ncgator: I do have a question, do you know the person that Kira tried calling????????

I guess I have a lot of guy friends and I don't think a thing about taking my girls around them, If I am there with them. I asked because growing up my Mom worked for a trucking company and on Sat. we went to work with her. I think Kira had to know the person that did this, otherwise why kill her? I don't think it has anything to do with working in a "male" invironment. Lots of women do. But I do think it was someone that they both knew.

Hi Philamena, the daughter's father i belive is incarcerated so he's out of the question and has not been involved in his daughter's life at all.. i would think maybe someone she works with..

After reading all of this I am wondering if the daughters father who is incarcerated may of paid someone to get rid of them?

Or is he the type of guy who may of owed debts to another prisoner & he sent therm to his Ex Wifes house for payment? Possibly a gang hit from jail???

Again, thank you all. This is very therapeutic for me in many ways. Knowing there are others out there willing to take spare time to think about ways to possibly solve this is great.

To reply to a few of the questions from the last few posts.

Tree companies are generally small and family run, just like the one Heather worked for. So, she did not feel uncomfortable taking Kira to work or work sites. She didn't do it often, but Kira was known by the people that worked there and she knew many if not all of them. The reason I say it this way is because another fact about this type of company is that it is not only male dominated, it is relatively transient.

I don't know how, but the fire department says they were unable to determine the accelerant. TV always makes it look so easy. If there is one thing I have learned, nothing in solving a crime like this is easy.

I do know who Kira was trying to call. Why she was I don't know. I can tell you she is a dear friend of Heather's and Kira's and is devastated that the call did not come through.

I don't know Kira's father all that well, but that would really surprise me. While he had little contact with Kira, everything I have experienced from him, he loved her very much. He is just a messed up young man who has gotten involved in drugs. Also, he knew Heather didn't have much money. If he was looking for money he would have had to go someplace else.

Keep up the questions and thoughts.

Thanks

Nc- my sympathies also-
I tend to think the killer was not aware of the daughter, so worker perhaps out of the picture- I think they were surprised by the little one that night, but I sure could be wrong- did your sister ever confide in anyone about the tire slashing event? ie- who she thought it might have been- and I understand if you cant comment- I am sure this has already been tracked down-- just thinking out loud, and hoping "something" sparks a memory or thought for le-

Another question- do we know where she was that evening and what time she came home? was her daughter with her?

  • #78
The tire slashing was investigated since she did confide in someone.

Earlier in the evening Heather was out with my father, Kira, and another niece and nephew of mine out buying Christmas trees. Heather then left Kira with my father for about an hour to run an errand or two. She was back at my fathers between 8 and 8:30pm and took Kira home.

I believe she went straight home, but don't know for sure. That would put her home around 8:30.

I'm thinking this person must have been very angry with Heather for some reason. Why shoot her so many times?

  • #80
Ncgator do they know how the person got into your sisters house? Or did the fire destroy that?
