Odd that this never made the news. I hope that Heibi is safe, she's been missing for a while.

Heibi was last seen in the West Palm Beach, Florida area. She was wearing a gray hospital gown and blue socks.

Well, she's 24 -y/o, so she's able to make her own decisions. Maybe a boy- or girl-friend picked her up so as to avoid someone else, or to avoid a procedure she didn't want or couldn't afford? Hiding from a "bad person," perhaps.
A bit scary due to length of time missing. Hoping for good news or more info.

Following - thanks, Guy.

Hospitals are scary, I'd want to run away too. Hope she's safe.

Odd that she left in a hospital gown. Her clothes would have been bagged and nearby. I wonder why she didn’t dress. Did the hospital staff try to locate her?

I could be way off base, but I am wondering if she was detoxing? The rehab industry is huge in Florida to the point where there are recruiters that will pay users with good insurance and get them high so that they'll fail a drug test and enter a certain rehab. They get clean, get out, and then another recruiter gets them high and it's onto the next rehab. The cycle has a name: the Florida Shuffle. Florida shuffle - Wikipedia

What do they mean "left in hospital gown"? Was she officially discharged from a hospital? Is the hospital nearby? Wouldn't you need to be officially released to someone's care (the hospital is no longer responsible/liable). As far as i know if you're officially a patient at a hospital, you just can't leave without any paperwork being done. What she was there for would also be useful/helpful/is of interest due to her being missing.

Found this: 50-2018-DR-000662-XXXX-NB ALVAREZ, HEIBI V SEBASTIAN, LUPITA DIEGO

IANAL so not sure exactly what a "repeated violence" civil case does for the petitioner. Do they get a payout or is it similar to a restraining order?

ETA: what looks to be an old misdemeanor case against HA, can't find a charge NOTICE OF HEARING - HEIBI
One of the Case Events 2/2018, is an On the Behalf Of..... two minor children. So whatever is going on, she has very young children.

That may be the whole thing right there, @PayrollNerd. Good thinking.
Maybe whoever was taking care of the children had to leave, or maybe she couldn't afford a sitter for another day. She may have known that she wasn't gonna be discharged on the date that she left, maybe she had no insurance, etc., so she felt she had to leave.
Hoping she is okay.

Repeat violence is usually requesting a permanent injunction- like a restraining order but permanent. Multiple incidents of DV believed to be followed by more if it isn't permanent. That's my understanding but MOO. And no, no payout.

It's not unusual in FL for a hospital to file a missing person's report if someone walks out without being discharged. They tend to do it to cover their asses, not because the person is really missing. They just can't account for where they are and they were last seen at the hospital. Generally they will send LEO to the residence to check on the individual and nothing more is done.

In this case, her being a DV victim is super concerning. In DV cases many times the abuser will withhold medical treatment as a means of control (and so that the victim isn't alone with medical staff).

I am going to look more in to this case. She's been missing too long and apparently has minor children who have been through enough. Hopefully she is intentionally missing for her own safety and the children are out of harm's way.

All MOO

Oh dear. Bless her heart. Hope she is safe and somewhere with her children in a place unknown to her abuser. Scary and maddening. Let her be safe.

I hope they have searched ever nook and cranny in the hospital. It's happened before where the person has been found dead in an unused part of the hospital. MOO
