MARGATE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating the discovery of a human skull at the Oriole Golf and Tennis Club.
According to Margate Police, a diver maintaining the irrigation system at the golf course, located at 8000 Margate Boulevard, found a vase with a human skull inside, at around 10 a.m. Monday. "The divers were performing maintenance on an irrigation line when they came across a clay pot in approximately 10-15 feet of water," Margate Police said in a statement. "The clay pot contained the remains of a human skull and various trinkets."

That also looks like a very large butcher knife laying on the ground by the skull, I wonder if this was found with it? may be murder weapon moo

I thought of Haleigh too but I am sure no one took the time to put her remains in anything... once I read the article I am thinking they are right, and probably related to some religious ritual. Sad no matter...

It's also a 4 hour drive from Satsuma to Margate (according to Google).

I doubt anyone connected to HaLeigh's case would have bothered to drive that far either. Would have cut into their time getting high.

I should say though....as far as Adji....

Immokalee (where Adji went missing from) is only about an hour and a half away from Margate....so that seems plausible.

"But such discoveries are not uncommon in South Florida and are often linked to ritualistic Afro-Caribbean religions." http://touch.orlandosentinel.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-76599841/

The discoveries that are not uncommon that the article is talking about are apparently children's skulls in clay pots?!!

I don't live in FL but can't remember reading/hearing about such discoveries on WS before. Shouldn't there be a lot of unidentified skulls (or people, but the only remains they'd have I guess would be skulls) in FL then?

ritualistic Afro-Caribbean religions. Are they thinking it's ritualistic now? What is LE saying?

(Bolded respectfully by me) That's exactly what I was thinking!! If this is not uncommon to find the skulls of CHILDREN in clay pots then where in the heck are they getting these from???? Murdered children?? Stealing them from cemeteries??? Where are the bodies?? Human sacrifice for religion??? When our forefathers wrote the first amendment, I don't think they had this in mind.

"Most recently, two women traveling to Baltimore from Cuba were detained at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in April when pots containing what appeared to be human skulls were found in their carry-on baggage.

The women said they bought the terra cotta pots at a religious shop in Cuba and were told the artifacts would "ward off evil spirits," authorities said."

I just want to know where they get their supply of skulls from?

I merged the thread you started with a similar thread.

So this skull is an ancient skull not associated with a homicide or missing person like the other one in this thread?

I don't know that for sure, but the circumstances are identical, and re isn't much we can do sleuthing-wise with a skull imported from Cuba.

I am still confused.... just to recap the possible child skull found in the water is likely to be the remains from a dead child that had been buried. Then their skull dug up and use for a religious ritual. Because the skull is thought to have come from another country it not going to be followed up on?

These appear to be two different skulls. They sent this new one just found to the medical examiners office. They do not know what happened here yet.If it's homicide or not.I don't think it's resolved yet.But it probably is very similar to the other skulls found.

So no new info? Just because it was supposed to be used in a ritual does that mean they wont look for who it was?!
