That body is about to be publicly ID'ed in a press conference later, and it appears you may have clocked it 2 years ahead of investigators

Wow, well all I apparently did was use NamUs to look for John Does that fit his statistics within the same state where he went missing. I know Florida has many missing people and Does, though. So less obvious matches may not be prioritized for DNA testing, etc.

I know it can also take a year or two+ to confirm a possible match once the process is started. Maybe this one had already been in progress for a few years.

Sincere condolences to Jacob's family. I can tell he was a great young man and it's saddening and unfair that he is gone so young.

May Jacob's family be surrounded by loving people and much support.

He was found across the street from the beach. There is an Embassy Suites there on Scenic Gulf Drive. He was found behind that building in between a parking lot and wooden fence of a housing subdivision. I'm surprised he wasn't found sooner.

Also, Niceville is about 20 miles North, and you would have to go over the Midbay Bridge (toll) most likely, or the 331 bridge. I would imagine someone drove him here. There really aren't any buses. Maybe an Uber, or an aquaintance.
