Sheriff's Office asks for the public's help in finding missing person:

James Kremer Prell, 84, of 21857 Disturbed Pine Road on Cudjoe Key, left his residence on on foot March 15, 2024 at approximately 11 p.m. wearing only a pair of black, Croc-type sandals and holding a flashlight.

He was last seen on Astruias Road on Cudjoe Key a few blocks from his residence.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective B. Barrios at 305-906-0087.

Family members said Prell suffers from dementia along with other medical conditions that can make him non-verbal.

Cudjoe Key is only about 5 square miles of land; he can't have gone too far unless he ended up in the water. (I hope he didn't end up in the water.)

Really saddened there's no more media coverage of this man. You would think an elderly man wandering off naked into the night and vanishing would garner at least a few more stories, but there's nothing. There doesn't seem to be anything in the way of official law enforcement searches being planned, either. This poor family. I don't think this one has a happy ending.

The body of a Cudjoe Key man reported missing earlier this month was discovered Monday, March 25.
