*Motions Hearing for both (@ 9am ET) – FL – Jared Galen Bridegan (33), father of 4 ambushed & killed (shot 4 times), his 2-year-old daughter was jus3t feet away in the back seat, Jacksonville Beach, Feb. 16, 2022. – *Shanna Lee Gardner-Fernandez (36/now 38) indicted & arrested (8/17/23 by ATF agents in West Richland, Wash.), charged & arraigned (11/3/23) with 1st degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony & child abuse. DA will seek the DP. State withdrew DP (11/3/25). Held without bail on Fugitive warrant (in Benton County, WA). Was extradited on 10/20/23 to Florida. Plead not guilty. No bond. Judge denies to set bond (5/24/24). Judge denies bond (9/23/24). Duval County
*Mario Enrique Fernandez Saldana (34/now 37) arrested (in Kissimmee, Orange County, 3/16/23) & charged & indicted (3/16/23) & arraigned (4/4/23) with 1st degree murder with a weapon, conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony & child abuse. In Orange County jail waiting for transfer to Jacksonville in Duval County. Transferred to Duval County on 3/22/23. Held without bond. Plead not guilty. DA will seek the DP. State withdrew DP (11/3/25). Duval County
Jury Selection was set to begin on 8/3/26 was continued on 8/10/26. 250 prospective jurors will be called.

11/22/25 Update: The State Attorney's Office has withdrawn its intent to seek the death penalty against Gardner & Fernandez Saldana. Jared's widow, Kirsten Bridegan, stated her family unanimously supports the decision to avoid prolonging the suffering of his children. Following months of motions, wrangling & court hearings, the State Attorney's Office with support of Jared's widow has withdrawn its intent to seek the death penalty against co-defendants Gardner & Fernandez Saldana. Next pretrial hearing on 12/8/25 @ 9am.
12/8/25 Update: Pretrial hearing held with Judge London M. Kite presiding. Asst. State attorney Christina Simak & ASA S. Siegel present. Attorney for defendant (Saldana) Jesse Nolan Dreicer & attorney for defendant (Gardner) Patrick Kane Korody, defendants present in jail. Others present: Saldana: PA: F. Tassone (via Zoom) & S. Day & for Gardener: PA: M. Medina (via Zoom). 250 prospective jurors per defendants on 8/10/26 & trial will be from 8/17/26 thru 8/28/26. Next pretrial hearing on 2/6/26 @ 9am for both. Notice of clarification of counsel (Gardner).
12/23/25 Update: Fernandez’s defense team is pushing to get detailed answers from the state’s key witness—before he ever testifies under oath. Fernandez’s attorneys filed an eight-page motion trying to get answers—on paper—from the man they called “the most crucial State’s witness”: admitted gunman Henry Tenon, who was once one of Fernandez’s tenants. Even before his deposition, the defense wants Tenon to answer eight multi-part questions, including how much money he was allegedly promised, how any payment was made & details surrounding his role in the killing.
