Name: FERNANDEZ SALDANA, MARIO ENRIQUE

Case 16-2023-CF-002862-AXXX-MA

I didn't think he was supposed to be in court until June 20th. Hmm. I see on the docket it has waiver of speedy trial dated 6/12/23.

HENRY ARTHUR TENON

His sentencing was June 14?? I don't see anything announcing if he got the 15 years or more years?

By agreeing to plead guilty to Jared Bridegan's ambush shooting death in Jacksonville Beach, 62-year-old Henry Arthur Tenon will be sentenced to at least 15 years in prison, according to the newly released plea agreement.

In accepting the March 16 guilty plea for second-degree murder with a weapon, the "state waives the sentencing guidelines, defendant agrees to testify truthfully against any co-defendants, state will drop counts 2, 3 and 4 at the time of the sentencing," the agreement reads.

The man accused of planning Jared Bridegan’s death appeared in court today. Mario Fernandez faces first degree murder, conspiracy, and child abuse charges.

June 20, 2023 at 4:55 PM

Fernandez had a routine pre-trial hearing Tuesday and waived his right to a speedy trial. He’s accused of setting up Jared Bridegan to be killed back in February 2022.

They’re in the discovery review stages. Defense attorneys also filed a notice of death penalty qualifications for attorneys representing Fernandez. The state is only seeking the death penalty for Fernandez.

Not for Henry Tenon, 61, who pleaded guilty to second degree murder, and for being the shooter in the ambush killing. Attorney Shannon Schott explains why the state is only pursuing Fernandez for the death penalty.

[...]

Tenon agreed to testify against Fernandez. Both men now have court dates in July. Then the judge will check the status of the evidence.

6/20/23 Update: Fernandez had a routine pre-trial hearing Tuesday and waived his right to a speedy trial. Meaning he will not be going to trial in September. They’re in the discovery review stages. It’s likely that the state is looking at the facts and circumstances of this case, and known that Mr. Tenon did not do this on his own, and there was a puppet master pulling the strings.” Tenon agreed to testify against Fernandez.
