The children were last seen in the area of 200 block of Southwest Birch Place in Lake City.The children may be in the company of David Evans, who was last seen wearing a blue shirt with tan pants and Sydni Jones, who was last seen wearing a black shirt with denim pants. David has a blonde goatee beard. They may be traveling in a silver Dodge Stratus, FL tag number IS08VN. #FLAMBER.

UPDATE: 3/31/21 @ 10:40PM- An AMBER ALERT has been issued regarding this case. The vehicle is believed to be a silver Dodge Stratus (unknown year) Florida license plate of IS08VN.

Detectives are actively investigating a parental abduction which occurred on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at approximately 5:15 pm.

The suspects are Sydni Jones (23 year old W/F) and David Evans (24 year old W/M). The children have been identified as Jaxon Evans (4 year old W/M) and Lucy Evans (2 year old W/F). Both suspects have active warrants for their arrest related to this case.

Evans and Jones abducted the children at about 5:15 p.m. from the home in of a person that had custody of the children, the sheriff's office said. The home is in the 200 block of Southwest Birch Place in Lake City. No one was hurt in the abduction, the sheriff's office said.

Jones was living in the same house but was not supposed to have unsupervised guardianship over the children.

Both suspects have warrants for their arrest.

In a breaking development, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office tells Action News Jax that that previously reported Dodge Stratus is not the vehicle being driven by two parents wanted in the abduction of their two young children.

Investigators say more information will be provided to the public as soon as a correct vehicle is identified.

The suspects the Columbia County Sheriff's Office named are 23-year-old Sydni Jones and 24-year-old David Evans. A spokesperson says these are the kids' biological parents, and a court took their custody away. The children were placed with another relative, the spokesperson said. They were abducted from that home in Lake City, he said.

Police say the parents snuck the children out of a home at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Jail records show Evans was arrested last October for domestic battery and felony battery.
