Sorry. My message wasn't clearly stated. So, you think the initial tweet was correct? If so, why did they change it. The cat was already out of the bag. They are staying very tight lipped about this. I wonder if they know much more than what everyone else is thinking?!

lol sorry!

I do think that someone in media saw the two different colored bags, and the cat was out of the bag, but briefly and we happened to see it.

I wouldn't doubt that they know something.

They should have issued retractions!

Miami New Times, a free weekly paper, did a strikethrough in its earlier report:

Today, Miami Gardens Police found [this part was struck out -->> two bags full of body parts hidden in the brush right off the embankment of the Palmetto Expressway.] Update: Police now say that the discovery was just of a body, without further details. WSVN reports that the body may have been found in a black bag. It was found shoved in between bushes, and police had to cut through a chain link fence to retrieve it.

MNT isn't exactly the Miami Herald but it's not a bad publication.

There's so much quiet on this case.
I hope she's found, however I think she's the body they found. If in a bag, then she was murdered.

I am actually a friend of the family and am an avid researcher and came across this thread. I am also reading up on the Miami news to check for updates. The body that was found is not 100% identified, but they are pretty sure it is her based on some tattoos that she had and were found on the body. They are meeting tomorrow for dental records and taking Dna from a living relative- her grandmother. She did have MDMA and the dealer she got it from said that he saw her take one that night and warned her not to take too many as they were very powerful. My theory after research on MDMA is that she may have overdosed- causing her temperature to spike significantly. I'm not sure if she used the drug a lot- but some people are unable to metabolize the drug.

If she overdosed she may have been headed home, got very hot, opened her Windows to cool off and felt sick enough to get out of her car and understand that she was in no shape to drive, maybe got sick and walked to the side of the road and (I read she was close to a bus stop?? Not sure) - and ended up seizing and potentially falling into the bushes.

Or same theory but maybe she was hit by a car. But the coroner didn't see any foul play as far as the condition of her body was concerned.

She was an only child that lost her dad 3 years ago and her mother died unexpectedly last year.

This has been very hard, but it's nice to see that people are interested in the well being of strangers, and like me, interested in solving a mystery.

Once I find out more information I will post. If anyone else knows anything, I'd love to hear about it as well.

Hi Jdkang, and welcome to WebSleuths! I can understand that Jennifer may have overdosed on MDMA (:() but if the reports are true that LE had to cut through a chain link fence and through rough undergrowth to get to her then I am suspicious that someone else put her body there.

Hopefully we'll learn more soon. Such a waste of a young life.

Our thoughts go out to you and to all of her friends and family. Way too young. Just a tragedy.

Well from the camera angles from he news- it looks like there was a busy highway and most likely the chain length fence was in the parking lot and that was the only safe way to get to the body - but I see your point where they did say they **** down traffic. I know if it is her she would have been there for over 20 days decomposing in Miamis heat- so I know when your body starts to decompose it "settles" and is able to move in a sense- so my theory is that maybe she went to the side and fell unconscious and died, then after so many days her body settled into the bushes in a sense. I'm assuming by the hazmat suits and the fact they need dental records that the body was mainly Unrecognizable.

Very crazy- I'm sticking with what has been heard so far and that the coroner said so far (2 days from finding her) that it doesn't look like foul play. Supposedly her leg was in an awkward position- but again that could have been decomposing or moving being unconscious - there were no markings or anything on the body that led them to believe of a brutal murder.

Again- 2 days In- it will take a medical examiner and all of that to really figure it out in the next few weeks. I am very interested. It's sad, if this is her, that no one looked wherever they found her.

She supposedly had some type of lap band surgery too- not sure if Drugs can mess with that- I've read where it doesnt. Also MDMA is laced with other things including poison and stuff.

Supposedly MDMA also makes you trip out and see things- supposedly the Australian guy found in Rio tripped out on it thinking people wanted to kill him- and he ended up washing up on the beach. So she could have had a bad trip too... Never done it myself.

VERIFIED PROFESSIONALS and CASE INSIDERS

We are lucky enough to have posters from all walks of life with a broad spectrum of expertise. Some hold specialized knowledge that applies to the various circumstances of the cases we discuss, and can contribute valuable insight and information. We welcome their participation.

To ensure that anyone posting as a "professional" in a specific field truly is what/who they claim to be, WS employs a verification process.

The verification process also applies to "case insiders". Relatives, friends, and others personally acquainted with a victim or a suspect; or a professional working on behalf of a victim or the family, (I.e., a private investigator), can submit a request to be verified as a "case insider".

If you would like to become verified, please contact WS Administration at [email protected] with your Websleuths name, your real name, the case, a telephone number, and the times when you can be reached.

If you are a "professional" or "case insider", but would prefer not to be verified, please understand that you will be required to follow the general rules for posting, and back up your statements with links to appropriate sources.

More information on how to submit a request, and the information required, can be found at this link:

Verification Process for Professionals and Insiders

NOTE: Websleuths does not condone members becoming personally involved in cases by initiating contact with family members, law enforcement, or the media. This does not preclude responding to a request for volunteers, or utilizing proper channels to report valid information, i.e., "a tip", to law enforcement.

That still doesnt scream to me that she wasn't actually in parts.

Forgive me but I'll need to see it in the newspaper, first. I am sure you are who you say you are, but I just need to be sure.

I understand. I think it's so weird knowing of the person on this forum. I wasn't close with her- just friend of the family's family member. I saw her I think at Christmas this past year. So weird and very sad. If my overdose theory is right- she likely was hallucinating or knew that she wasn't feeling well. Like I've mentioned and researched- the last thing she did that night was "score some molly" via her text to her boyfriend- the dealer then said, this is very powerful, and saw her take one. She was probably driving home hot as hell (MDMA can give you hyperthermia) and had to get out of the car feeling sick maybe needing to puke or unable to drive (or hallucinating someone was after her) and either went to cut threw those bushes and fell down the embankment unconscious and dying... I don't know. I am just into solving things- just like everyone else here.

No lie, if she died of an overdose, I'd say that that is WAY better than being murdered by someone.... I'd much rather fall "asleep" than be abducted or something.

Remains along Palmetto are those of St. Thomas Aquinas grad Jennifer Bennett

The body found on the side of Palmetto Expressway on Wednesday is Jennifer Bennett, a friend confirmed Friday.

[...]

Police have not confirmed that the woman is Bennett, but close family friend Roberta DiPietro confirmed to the Herald that police had identified her as Jennifer Bennett.

“They called it a tragic accident,” said DiPietro, whose daughter was close friends with Bennett from their days at St. Rose of Lima School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School. “It’s a tragedy.”
