By my research, the attached photo is of her.

It's of a Jenny Dawson that was SHORT, that was born in 1952, that was of the Jacksonville area, that was listed as deceased in her brother's 2011 memorial (note: missing people are often listed that way when relatives die and include a "predeceased by" section), that was in Jacksonville in 1986, and that had the same middle initial of "M" as NamUs #MP26327. However, I couldn't absolutely authenticate this Jenny Dawson as being the missing person. Even if it is, it's a photo that would have been taken about 16 years prior to her disappearance. I may work on this case further.

This photo was taken from the 1970 yearbook for Duncan U Fletcher High School. That's at Ancestry. I had to look manually in the yearbook because I used "Jennifer Dawson" and her name appears as "Jenny Dawson." She appeared between a Joyetta Davis and a Diane Dean.

I was fairly young (13) when she went missing. She has three sisters and one brother. Her brother passed away in 2011 as noted above. The photos from the Fletcher yearbook are her. I only have one picture of her from likely around her high school years and the photo I have matches the yearbook photos. Jennifer would have attended Fletcher and one of the yearbooks also includes her younger sister. (I always knew of my cousin as Jennifer though, not Jenny.) She was very close with at least some of her sisters and everyone thought she would have contacted them if she could. She also never accessed any bank accounts in her name from what I have been told.

I've been researching my family history and have finally come across newspaper articles related to Jennifer's disappearance and a person who was questioned in her disappearance. The man's name was George Franklin Tharp, He had been Jennifer's boyfriend around the time of her going missing. He was arrested in connection with the death of Darryl House and ultimately pled guilty to 2nd degree murder of House. House had been an employee of Dawson Land Development which was Jennifer Dawson's brother's company. I believe she may have also worked for her brother.
I've been looking for information about what happened to Tharp. I believe that he died while he was in jail (according to family stories), but I'll have to confirm that later. I haven't been able to find any information about that.
In the interim, these are the articles I've been able to locate about Tharp. Each article has the newspaper title, followed by the year, month and day they were published.
On the lighter side, I also found articles about Jennifer when she was younger. She was quite the tennis player in college and there are a number of articles highlighting that. Even my brothers who were closer in age to her than I didn't know that, but my mother confirmed it. It has been nice to discover more about who she was, unrelated to her disappearance.
