A Florida Silver Alert was issued for an 88-year-old man missing from Clearwater.

Officials said Jerry Hyde was last seen Friday near the intersection of Lake Point Drive and Lake Point Drive South. At the time, he was wearing a blue plaid button-down shirt, navy blue shorts, white socks and sneakers.

He may be driving a 2018 white Nissan Rogue with Florida license plate 049MYW.

Officials said the vehicle has an NRA sticker and a Support Our Troops sticker on the rear window.

Anyone with information about Hyde is asked to contact the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at 727-582-6200 or 911.

That is a very busy area so there is a lot of cameras. They should have a reasonable idea which direction he was headed. Maybe he just got turned around and headed the wrong direction.

I'm local. The vicinity of Lake Point Drive is close to an area that 'can' be confusing which leads to Interstate 275 and the long bridge to Tampa.

Oh, I hate to see the elderly go missing. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for them. I hope he just got turned around, and is found soon.

A Silver Alert has been issued for an 88-year-old Clearwater man who has Alzheimer's disease.

Jerry Hyde was with his wife in the Feather Sound community to visit a friend. Hyde told his wife he did not want to go inside, so she briefly left him in the passenger seat with the vehicle running while she stepped inside to speak to her friend.

When she returned to check on her husband, Hyde was missing along with their vehicle.

I wonder what the address is that he left from, a complex that has cameras or a home.
Ulmerton was under construction last time I was in the area about a year ago and that can be a royal pain and so confusing. (I’m an hour south) if he headed south on I-275 the Sunshine Skyway toll cameras would pick him up. If he headed toward Tampa there are lots of traffic cameras.
I sure hope they can find him before dark.
