Found Deceased FL - Jim Johnson, 39, Orlando, 6 December 2013

His legal name would be James so start there; and compare any social media photos to the one we have...

Not necessarily. In the South, I have known many Billy's that were not named William, many Ricky's not named Richard, many Bobby's not named Robert and many Jim's legal name of Jimmy. You just never really know if his real name is Jim, Jimmy, James or if it is a middle name or nickname.

It certainly would not hurt to look for James.....

Hopefully, he is okay.

South Trail is a bad area, and from what I hear from friends still there Pine Hills is bad too these days. Not good.

This is a picture of the missing man's car where it was found.

I would imagine that fingerprints have been lifted if there are any to be had. Everything seems to be in place from what I can tell.

Looks like they pulled in from the bottom of the photo. But yes, everything looks in good condition.

Comments after the article also allude to the area and possibility they were after his car. My friends still in the area talk about what a high crime area Pine Hills has become in recent years. It was just a little suburb of Orlando when I lived there. Been gone since '78 and south OBT was bad even then.

The owner of the barber shop said Johnson was a regular there. He said nothing unusual happened inside the shop Friday, and no one said they saw anything happen in the parking lot outside.

"Nobody had seen nothing happen to him, and nothing happened to him in the shop," the owner said. "Nothing special, probably couldn't confirm that he was taken from up here. It's just speculation."

more pictures of missing person's car...

I wonder if he is just hanging out some place around there. I wonder if they should leave a few fliers around the area

I think that OPD or OCSD has a reason for believing that Mr. Johnson may have been kidnapped. They don't usually jump in this quickly nor do they talk about possible abductions when a healthy adult is missing unless they have serious cause for concern. I believe that they know a lot more than they're giving out at this time. Did someone receive a phone call? a text? a warning of some type? Had he been receiving threats? There has to be a reason they felt this could be a kidnapping. People don't usually leave new model Caddies sitting around in Pine Hills and just hang out. Prayers for this young man's safety. May he be reunited with his family soon (today would be good).

Well he doesn't appear to need a barber himself, so why was he there?

Maybe he has his head shaved there? Could also be he is a barber himself, and works there.

it is a nice car, but if they were after that, why would it have shown up where it did? Wouldn't it be chopped or shipped or at least hidden?

Older non white male... not getting the attention he needs.

Please please show up somewhere today (safe and sound) Jim Johnson Jr.

While I'm glad that you noted this, as I'm a non-white male, I actually disagree with you to a small extent. I've been pleasantly surprised at the attention it's gotten here on WS and on the internet. I can't speak much for any TV news, but when I Yahoo it (I'm a Yahoo guy...not Google), I see a decent amount of hits on this. Of course his name being so 'common' doesn't help much. But as I've said, I'm pleasantly surprised. :) I hope he's found very soon. This doesn't sound good to me and it's not passing my gut reaction test. :(

thanks for that post los... always good to get perspective. And in a cursory review of older male missing threads here - JJJ's case has garnered about the same number of posts after this many days.

When I do searching beyond WS, I don't see much aside from in the FL MSM, and the same story posted on many blogs. I don't know what I expect - just so sad when anyone is missing...

I don;t do much SM - is there a FB page dedicating to finding him yet - anyone know?

My gut reacts the same in this case. I hope I'm wrong!

(As wrong as I was thinking that you, los, are a woman! :seeya:)

Just laughed out loud @ the woman thing. Guilty of thinking the same. Hard to sense testosterone through posts. Hehe

I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of jim. Nothing makes sense. I want to know more details.

WOW!!! That's a first for me. Thinking I was a woman! Last time I checked (looking down), yep...I'm all man...and I hope my lovely wife would agree with that..I hope. ;)

Maybe I should start acting more manly in my posts...hmmm...burp!! Is that better? (or maybe my wife's got me that well trained..)

Jim is diabetic, right? Could it be he had some type of low sugar attack and got confused?

Actually, that's one heck of a good point. I can see him leaving the barber shop, acting in a normal manner as it has been said. He's driving, has a low or high sugar attack that's coming on, he's still aware enough to pull in somewhere to stop driving in that condition. After he's parked, due to confusion, he gets out of the car and walks away maybe either trying to find help or something along those lines.

The only thing that bothers me about that, is that LE seems to think kidnapping probably occurred, and I'm sure they have good reason to think that.

Still a great idea though.

At this point, anything is possible. Hope he is OK & located soon.

Is it still woodsy around Hiawassee Rd or all developed now? Just thinking of him wandering into the woods if there are still woods there.
