Circumstances of Disappearance:
Barreto's last known whereabouts was in Miami, Florida on January 20, 1977. He had left Lake Oswego, Oregon, and was last heard from when his family wired him money. He has never been heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, Barreto was receiving disability payments and the checks would be deposited in an account which his mother had access to. He would call her and ask her to send him money as he needed it.

Barreto suffered from mental issues after he experimented with LSD while serving in the Army. His mental illness caused him to travel aimlessly by bus when the weather was warm, either by Trailways or Greyhound.

Few details are available regarding Barreto's disappearance and his whereabouts remain unknown. Lake Oswego, Oregon police are investigating.
