Child locks within your car are on when you stop your vehicle and you can only open the front doors with the handle from the inside. If the backseat passengers want to get out of the car their doors have to be unlocked from the front drivers door. I also have an unlock button on the passenger front seat panel but not for the windows, just the doors.
Whether or not there were locks on the door it is very easy to check. jmo
That's technically not what child locks are. By definition, child locks are the little switches inside the door of the back seat doors. They cannot be controlled electronically by the driver. You cannot open the back doors without assistance from the outside, even when the doors are unlocked. That's why it's important to know if Jordan could have actually gotten out of the car at all, even if he tried. Yes, it's easy to check. But the issue didn't come up til much later. Even if the child locks are on or off now, it doesn't mean anything. They would have to have been checked that night and the cops didn't know at the time it would be important.
I don't know about Durangos but in my car if the child locks are on they stay on until someone takes them off. The police should have been able to check it since they had the car in the impound lot imo.
This prosecutor has an "interesting" style .
