PBSO began investigating the case Sept. 21, 2011. In an interview with the girl on Oct. 4, she said "this boy like raped me and I got pregnant," and said rape means "he made me have sex when I didn't want to," according to the probable cause affidavit for Rodriguez's arrest. She told police the father's name was "Alex."

DNA testing shows there's a 99.9999 percent chance that suspect Jorge A. Rodriguez, is the father.

September 2012:

A Lake Worth man was arrested Monday, accused of impregnating a girl who was 12 years old at the time of the incident last year.

Jorge A. Rodriguez, 31, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. He is facing charges of sexual battery on a child and impregnation of a child.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s detectives began working the case in September 2011, when they received reports of a 12-year-old girl who was sexually battered and was pregnant.
