34-Year-Old Lake City Man Reported Missing, May Be in Suwannee County

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office said that Joshua Tabares was last seen Saturday around 11:30 p.m. at his home on Southwest Dante Terrace that he shares with his mother.

This FB post by Joshua from only a little over a year ago has me very worried. He talks about suffering from depression, past substance abuse, having tried to kill himself several times (most recent one requiring a week-long hospitalization in 2014). Plus, he says his father killed both his mom and grandmother when he was only five months old .... Please be OK.

Sad update, he was found dead this morning in the Wellborn area of Suwanee County (near Live Oak, FL). That's about a 20-30 minute drive from Lake City.

His death is under investigation by the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office, with Columbia County Sheriff's Office assisting.

Dalagali, when I read his full FB post, it sounds like he and his brother and sister had gone into the foster care system when he was an infant, so perhaps he was adopted subsequently.

Officers found Tabares' body in Suwannee County after a passerby noticed Tabares' grey Mini Cooper sitting on the side of a road for two days. Deputies found his body inside a locked fence surrounding a cellphone tower on Sunday afternoon. He had trauma to his head, officers said.

Officials are working to learn his cause of death.​
