Nearly two weeks after the body of 19-year-old Kaleigh Mousseau was found wrapped in a sheet on the side of a road in Florida, police and loved ones are still searching for answers.
"She was the sweetest girl. There’s no reason for this to happen to her," Shawn Galvan, the mother of Mousseau's boyfriend, told local station WBBH.
Mousseau's body was found on Durden Parkway East in Cape Coral on the morning of April 17, according to the News Press. Galvan hadn't seen the 19-year-old, who was staying with her family, for five days when her body was discovered. Her body was wrapped in a sheet.

No news on Kaleigh -- Local press? LE? Her family?
At least I haven't seen anything. Sad.

Thanks for the info, @Strangeworld -- are you near the area?
Looks like she had gotten into a bit of trouble -- nothing really serious, and no harm, it would appear, to anyone other than herself according to the charges. Maybe she was running with some folks she shouldn't have been -- or with someone who was. This makes things even more sad now, IMO. Little girl lost?

Here's this -- sounds like LE is doing what it can. It hasn't been classified as a homicide yet.
We'll have to wait until the autopsy to see COD and MOD -- if it's thought to be homicide, then LE will have more leeway to put more serious investigators and detectives on the case, I'm thinking...

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - It's been 12 days since someone found 19-year-old Kaleigh Mousseau dead in Cape Coral. She was wrapped up in a sheet and duct tape and left on Northeast 10th Court and Durden Parkway.
The Cape Coral Police Department said they still don't know how she died. They are waiting for a report from the medical examiner to confirm her cause of death.
As the investigation continues, Mousseau's loved ones are desperate for answers.
[...]
At this point, Cape Coral police are not calling Kaleigh's death a murder. They said it will be considered a suspicious death until they get the report from the medical examiner, which can take up to a couple months.
"It brings us hope that they haven’t given up," Galvan said.
CCPD confirmed they have persons of interest in the case, but they said no one is in custody at this time.

Mousseau was found dead duct-taped in a white sheet along Gator Circle on April 17, police said.

Thomas Bartley and Denise Maggi, the fourth and fifth suspects to be arrested, face several charges related to Kaleigh Mousseau's death. Three others have been arrested in the case: John Kaiser, Carl Crowe, and Amy Sigears.

Investigators search for Cape Coral woman accused of dumping teen's body - NBC2 News

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman arrested in June for her involvement in dumping a 19-year-old woman’s body in Cape Coral is wanted by authorities again.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said Denise Maggi is wanted for a felony arrest and order revoking pretrial supervision for mishandling human remains, duty to report a death, and tampering/fabricating physical evidence.

Maggi was the last of five suspects to be arrested by Cape Coral police on several charges related to Kaleigh Mousseau’s death in April. Maggi bonded out of jail after her arrest.

Mousseau was found dead, duct-taped in a white sheet along Gator Circle on April 17, Cape Coral police confirmed.

The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the 19-year-old died from an overdose. Mousseau had cocaine, meth, and oxycodone in her system, according to the arrest reports.

Anyone with information on where Maggi is should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477 or make a tip at southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com.

This is one of the saddest cases I've ever read on WS!

It stinks to high heavens. Waaaay more had to be going on there. What you can't cop meth or coke from young people? Yeah, lots of meth dealers and addicts dump an OD, but they wrap this young lady in a sheet and toss her in water?

Who exactly supplied the drugs? That's unintentional death while committing a felony.

This is a kid. Yeah meth addicts are notoriously brutal, but wouldn't just one, ONE of them old heads try and steer this lovely, young girl the right way. Technically an adult and made choices, but them old a** lunatics let her for their own reasons!

Beautiful girl I pray you have peace now. I'm so sorry life dealt you a #h!& roster.

Carl Crowe arrested for meth again.

Special thanks for that, Magz. You can't make that stuff up between the ice cream, and how many different drugs he had! Along of them pharmaceuticals too.

That dude should have still been locked up.

Was just watching In Pursuit on ID, and Lauren's sister stated that she dated Carl Crowe off and on.
Yes, she did. If you're listening to Complicit, we get to Carl in episode 4, On Again, Off Again.
