First reported by Nassau County Florida as missing since 12/19/19 and last seen in Callahan FL. NCSO (Nassau County Sheriff's Office) updated 8 hours ago that NCSO now has information that she was last seen in NW Jacksonville on 12/23/19 near Sycamore St. (which is about 11 miles from downtown Callahan FL).

"She drives a silver 2013 Hyundai Elantra with Florida tag JLLW71.
If you have ANY information that could aid in the location of Katherine Bodden Gelaro also known as “Melissa Bodden,”or have a means of contacting her, please contact Nassau County Sheriff’s Office Detective Maldonado at 904-548-4073."

Deputies look for Nassau County woman missing for 2 weeks
  • KG was last seen Dec. 23 near Sycamore Street in Northwest Jacksonville.
  • Her boyfriend, Jerry Salis, 37, was arrested the next day in Duval County on charges of burglary, car theft, grand theft, drug possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Salis has a lengthy criminal history, including a stabbing in October and he’s served time in prison.
  • KG lived in Callahan, but the NCSO said she was last known to be living with Salis in Jacksonville.
  • She is 5 feet, 4 inches tall weighing 115 pounds.
  • She has brown eyes and brown hair.
  • She drives a silver 2013 Hyundai Elantra with Florida tag JLLW71.
  • Calls to her phone go straight to voicemail.
  • Her family members say it is unlike her not to be with them on the holidays.
  • “She told me she would be right back -- she wouldn’t be gone too long. She’d be right back,” said HB, her father. “That’s the last I’ve seen her.”
  • One of KG’s two sons reported her missing on Christmas.

This article may behind a paywall for some, but they often provide a few free articles. Similar info to what news4jax.com posted, but gives 2 other locations she's lived at before. Missing Nassau County woman last seen in Jacksonville

The 47-year-old woman was staying at her boyfriend’s mother’s home in Callahan, according to nearby neighbors and family members.

Her boyfriend, Jerry Randall Salis III, lives on Sycamore Street in Northwest Jacksonville, according to Duval County court documents.

On Christmas Eve, Salis was arrested for possession of drugs and a weapon, along with car theft.

Gelaro’s father told Action News Jax that he told his daughter to stay away from Salis. However, police said Salis is not a person of interest at this time.

  • December 24, 2019: Jerry Randall Salis III is arrested for possessing marijuana, grand theft, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
  • December 25, 2019: Family reported Katherine Gelaro missing. Police report said family last saw her on December 19, 2019 in Callahan.
  • January 3, 2020: Nassau Co. Sheriff’s Office received information that Katherine Gelaro was seen in northwest Jacksonville, near Sycamore St.

Neighbors confirmed Gelaro was living on Morris Dr. with this man, Jerry Salis III. He is now in Duval Co jail for theft and possession of drugs and a gun. He was arrested the day before Gelaro was reported missing @ActionNewsJax

Investigators find car belonging to missing Nassau County woman

It seems as though this family could really use the help of a SAR group as they've struggled getting people out to help them search for Melissa. With no new information about her disappearance, Durham feels Melissa Bodden has been forgotten.

She says she wants people keep sharing her picture and saying her name so that someone will speak up.

Salis, was booked into Duval County Jail on Dec. 24 on multiple charges -- including car theft, grand theft and drug possession -- unrelated to her disappearance.

stole a car and then a truck (more details in article)...Police said they were on their way to his home on Sycamore Street when he ran into the woods, ditching a pink handgun that he had gotten when he stole the car.

The court appearance Monday was for the stabbing case...The stabbing victim, (gives details about the stabbing)...claimed Salis held him hostage for 30 minutes ...

... recent arrests are also not connected to her disappearance.

...Salis told investigators that he was high on meth.

Detective Charity Rose said they have a person of interest in Melissa’s case.

“That person is currently incarcerated,” Detective Rose said. “When the time comes to put charges on this person, I want to make sure that those charges stick.”
