What about Eugene Pavey?

According to Namus, Eugene and his wife, Melanie, were last seen on July 1, 1982 leaving Crandon Beach Marina, in Miami, Florida on the way to the Great Abaco Islands, Bahamas, but they did not make it to the island and their boat was never found.

It is believed that they may have stopped at Port Everglades Marina, in Ft. Lauderdale, the following days after leaving Miami. This would have put them going the opposite direction of Key West, but it's just believed they went this way, not confirmed. So maybe they set out from Crandon Beach, something happened on their way, and his body just floated down to Key West?

Eugene disappeared in 1982, five years before UP6220 was found. But Namus has no PMI for UP6220, saying his partial remains were not recognizable, so conceivably he could've floated for five years.

Eugene was 50 years old, so within UP6220's age range of 45-75 years old.

Eugene was 2-4 inches taller than UP6220, but the latter's height could be off.

Eugene was about 150 lbs just like UP6220.

The hair color and even facial hair are off, as Eugene was greying and bearded, but it doesn't appear that UP6220 was either—but maybe this could be due to being in the water for so long? I think they have a similar receding hairline, and their nostrils look similar. The rest of the facial features may not look like an exact match, but a beard can hide the underlying skin.

Another possibility could be Alfred Sanderlin.

He disappeared on June 25, 1985—so about two years before UP6220 was found. Like Eugene (above), Alfred too was on his way to the Bahamas, and was last seen at Riviera Beach.

Namus mentions he went boating with one friend, then stopped off at the Riviera Beach and then left, but it's not clear if the friend went with him or stayed at Riviera Beach. It is clear that Alfred was visiting another friend in the Bahamas, so Alfred could conceivably have set out alone, gotten into trouble, and his body drifted to Key West.

Namus doesn't have a photo for Alfred, so I guess we can't compare him to the sketch, but:

Alfred was 45 years old, which is the beginning of UP6220's age range.

Alfred was 5'7" and 170 lbs, so just one inch taller and 20 lbs heavier than UP6220—but again, height and weight can vary.

Alfred also had greying hair, and UP6220 had brown hair, but can being in the water so long affect this?

I would say Eugene was a better match if it weren’t for the 5 year time gap. But there are a few theories surrounding their disappearance, including drug cartel involvement and starting new lives, so it’s still possible.

I don’t see anything to rule Alfred out either. I’m not sure how being in the water 2 or 5 years would effect the body.
