As recent as 2014 and 2015 there were motions for contempt, order for child pick-up, and subpoena to a DCF investigator.
Uuuuuuugghg, that's not good.

Yes, when my father (and several years earlier, my cat) required insulin that was sold "OTC", it had to be picked up from the pharmacy where it was refrigerated. I was never required to show ID to pick up OTC insulin, but I did have to go to the pharmacy to obtain it.
Just thinking...Perhaps he wanted some time alone in the house like maybe one night he felt like he wasn't being watched over. His Grandmother may have thought it wasn't a good idea and an arguement began and got out of control. MooThis is all so disturbing. Was he so miserable at school this year that he was planning to run away and his grandmother found out something and confronted him? Maybe he did shove her and she did die by accident and then he tried to cover it up as a robbery? If this school is a "rougher" school, did he get bullied, or get involved with the wrong crowd in an attempt to fit in and those people gave him ideas about taking off? Or did he get involved in drugs? Sometimes even the kids that look super straight laced can hide their drug use very well. Maybe he was on something and his grandmother caught him or he was just affected by whatever drugs he was using.
I'm just speculating, btw! NOTHING has been reported about him using drugs, but I am just trying to make sense of what seems to be a totally senseless thing. Maybe he was suffering from some level of depression, or other mental health issues, but the parents are not wanting to admit to that. For some people that is still taboo. I just wonder what was going on under the surface. There has to be something that will come out eventually.

A reporter saw investigators with buckets and sifters in the yard Thursday evening; the public would find out the next day what they were for.
Meanwhile, investigators had found a makeshift grave in the backyard, and by daylight uncovered what they believed to be French’s body.

WP article has some details I hadn't seen before.
I hit a pay wall on WP. What are the new details? Can you summarize?
Strange, I didn't know they had one. I don't have a paid account and never had a problem. You should be able to get past it by deleting cookies.
Probably nothing new to most -- just details (like the two I copied) about the search.
Here is another quote: Her son, Campbell-Mott wrote, was good and kind to his family. He had not made a sound when he was born and remained introspective through life — “always looking at the world, analyzing it.”

Bowker told reports at a press conference Saturday that Mott "had no idea where he was going."
"The only thing I have from the initial inspection was that it was a normal inspection at the border that we encounter. We encounter wrong turns all the time," Bowker said. "Obviously, he’s underage, but, believe it or not, that happens all the time as well."
Mott’s mother, Carrie Campbell-Mott, told News4Jax that detectives flew up to meet him Saturday morning, but she’s not sure exactly how to get to him. She added that she has filed a complaint with the ACLU.
I've emailed and left voicemails with the Buffalo Border Patrol with no response," Campbell-Mott said. "The detective who has been working the case has not answered my texts or calls since last night. A detective told me last night he was flying out today." News4Jax spoke with criminal defense attorney Reid Hart about what Mott can expect moving forward.
Hart said the active investigation is confidential and there is no requirement for authorities to notify parents of anything.
“I would expect that he is going to be prosecuted as an adult, especially just based on how the events unfolded with finding her in the shallow grave in the backyard,” Hart said. “If he is charged as a juvenile, they only have authority to hold him until he is 19. The state will typically charge as an adult just for purposes of sentencing.”
Mott can waive or fight extradition back to Florida
