Volunteers search for Cape Coral woman as disappearance nears 30 days

The desperate search for a Cape Coral woman continues. Lauren Dumolo’s boyfriend, Gabriel Pena, is the last person to see her before she vanished June 19. She will be missing for a month this Sunday if not found by then.

Friends, neighbors and volunteers gathered Wednesday to help police and Lauren’s family search for her.

A group plastered stores at a local plaza with posters of Lauren Dumolo. They all want her to return home, and each poster is a reminder any tip can help.

Volunteers we spoke to don’t know Lauren personally, but they do know she’s loved.

“She’s somebody’s daughter. She’s somebody’s sister. She’s somebody’s mom,” Katie Whalen said. “We need to bring her home, and we just want to help the family.”

The days since Lauren was last seen are passing quickly.

“Everybody needs to know that she’s missing,” Whalen said. “That she’s from here, and she’s missing, and help find her.”

Lauren turned 30 years old this past Tuesday.

“I’m watching her one sister just break down in tears, holding her daughter, and it’s just heartbreaking,” Whalen said. “They need answers. They need her home. They need our community’s help desperately.”

Whalen doesn’t want any more time to pass by without a substantial effort to find Lauren.

“It is going on 30 days, and we don’t want to reach that mark,” Whalen said. “We want to bring her home to her family before that, so we are urgently asking people to please become involved in the searches.”

Saturday, searchers are meeting up to look for Lauren and any possible clues to her whereabouts. The search will begin 11 a.m. at the Publix plaza at US-41 and Del Prado Boulevard North. The search party wants all the community support it can receive.

“We have a missing, now 30-year-old. Yesterday was her birthday, Cape Coral resident,” Cynsi Elser said. “Please come out and search for Lauren.”

Have they been able to get any other information about Dumolo ?
Did they check hotels and inns that have fast food places within the same proximity ?

how about putting flyers at truck stops like loves and other areas like them.
also lovers key area and
camp grounds And centennial park.
Sun Coast area, palm beach, and San Carlos park.
Perhaps even checking places where she enjoyed getting food from.
Just trying to think of places that are close.
Sometimes a person can be still near by Or the opposite side of town when everyone is Searching far.

Dumolo’s 30th birthday was just two days ago

“At this time we do not have any new information,” a Cape Coral Police Department public affairs officer, Master Sergeant Patrick O'Grady, told Fox News Thursday.

“We are actively asking our community to come forward with any information that could help us locate Lauren," he said.

Still searching for one Cape Coral mother: one month later

Lauren Dumolo was last seen 29 days ago. On Tuesday, Dumolo turned 30. And her family wants the community to remember her.

“She’s somebody’s mother. She’s somebody’s sister. She’s somebody’s daughter. She needs to be found,” said Kelly Whalen, one of the volunteers at Saturday’s search.

More than a dozen people came out in North Fort Myers on Saturday to help search for Lauren Dumolo.

“Until we know or until we find something, you keep looking. Whether it takes weeks, it takes months, you just keep looking till you can find something,” said Morgan Kulchawik, another volunteer.

I’ve wondered why no other photos of LBD
Are posted. Perhaps with different hair style or not selfies.
It has been a month since her disappearance, what if she has her hair tied back or up, or she is not wearing cosmetics and dressed up.
The family should perhaps put out a photo or two of her in different setting than her selfies.
If she is somewhere against her choice, she may be in clothing that is not her normal style.

that's odd that the shirt was found "later", did they per chance miss it the first time? so they boyfriend and her had been together 4 years. does she work?
My opinion is, she relapsed into using. Had been hanging around the park doing stuff related to getting high. Losing stuff (purse, shirt). Bf has known her long enough to not to find it too upsetting. Hoped she’ll come home but fully aware she might not. She could have been triggered by a setback in a custody issue.

Again, this is my opinion.

Father will not give up search for missing daughter in Cape Coral

Paul sat down and spoke to us Tuesday about his daughter and continues to hold onto hope, while remaining worried for his daughter.

“It’s always been my biggest fear that my daughter is gone,” Paul said.

For 32 days, Paul has searched, prayed and waited for his daughter’s safe return. He lives in California but almost immediately came to Cape Coral when his daughter disappeared.

“It’s exhausting,” Paul said. “I’ve been here almost a month now. Not a day has gone by where I haven’t been out either talking with people, searching for where she could possibly be.”

Lauren’s birthday was just days ago.

“She was 30 years old,” Paul said. “That was probably the worst day of all of this.”

But neither Paul nor the community will give up.

Day by day, search teams have gone door-to-door, handing out flyers and holding onto hope for any clue as to her whereabouts. Flyers still hang at Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral, a place she often visited.

“These people take out their own time,” Paul said. “You know, they don’t have to do this.”

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers says some tips have come in, and Cape Coral Police Department is investigating all of them. There is an $8,000 reward for Lauren’s case.

Another search is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday morning for Lauren. Anyone who wants to help can meet the search party at Shops at Surfside plaza off Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Lauren’s father does feel they’re closer to getting answers. He also hired a private investigator.

“My biggest hope would be that my daughter is found alive and found safe,” Paul said. “I will not give up. I hope nobody else gives up in the search for my daughter. I will not leave Florida until I have all the answers and this is solved.”

Has LE confirmed, it was indeed her shirt? Because I couldn't find anything online about that.
Problem is, there is no sighting of her in the park that day. They just assume that because she is a frequent visitor of the park and her purse was found there that day.

IMO that park doesn't seem to be the right place to get high. A lot families with children, and regular activities. I visited all the pages with reviews of the park, and no one mentioned anything about possible drug use in the park. Some talked about it being a bit run down, but that I think is because it is such a busy place.

I am still baffled by the fact her phone was in the house for two days, her father texted and called, especially on the 21st. So IMO nobody was home, otherwise you would at least have the decency to call the father and say something like: "She left her phone, that's why she is not responding."

I’m glad to hear there’s a PI now. Someone needs to talk. It takes a while to review video. There has to be something, somewhere that shows Lauren in her travels prior to her disappearance.

When she finished her last shift at work, where did she go? Who did she see? Did she run errands anywhere?

Where was the boyfriend in the days before her disappearance? Did he pick her up from work? Did they socialize with anyone?

Where there any deliveries to the apartment like from Amazon? When’s the last time someone saw groceries being taken inside?

I listened to the bf's interview and his tone for the situation came off so weird to me. JMO.

I have been keeping my eye out for news of missing women in the Fort Myers area ever since a certain Gilgo Beach doctor decided to retire and move there.

Well this is interesting. I know exactly where that is too. As you travel down Kings Hwy, you can see the water. Per the video, the body has been decomposing for awhile.
