Cape Coral woman missing for two months; police continue to search
That night Paul Dumolo got a phone call from Lauren's boyfriend, Gabriel Pena, who he has never met, saying she wasn't at home June 19. No one has heard from her since and her social media accounts are dark.
"The call was out of the blue and I just thought she must be at her mom's house or the store or something," Paul Dumolo said. Dumolo soon booked a flight to Florida to join the search.

Since going missing, Lauren has missed her daughter's birthday and her own 30th birthday.
Danielle Langevin, of Fort Myers, was a stranger to Lauren Dumolo's family before she went missing, but now she has been responsible for helping with searches and fundraising events.
When Langevin first heard that a woman was missing, she felt an instant bond: Lauren Dumolo's daughter has the same birthday as her son.
"I immediately had a connection, I met the family within a couple of days and established a quick bond with them," she said.
At first, Langevin thought she would just help out here and there, but she became close with the family, she said.
So far, Crime Stoppers has received a little more than a dozen tips on Lauren Dumolo's case, not as many as they had hoped for, said Trish Routte, a manager for Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
"It’s sad and frustrating at the same time, because someone out there has to know something or have seen her after the morning of June 19," Routte said.
The Cape Coral Police Department had 18 missing persons cases since June 1. All have been found with the exception of Lauren Dumolo.
No phone, no money, no trace of Lauren Dumolo: Where is the Cape Coral mother? - NBC2 News
Her poor dad... I just want to give him a hug. At video in link, her sister states she had helped Lauren pay rent right before she went missing since Lauren was laid off due to COVID. She didn't have the money to make herself disappear.
BF reported her missing 2 days after she was last seen but due to an error in the police report, she wasn't searched for until 5 days after she was last seen. “Nothing was done about it until Wednesday when the officer that took the report was back into work, and she was the only person who could fix the clerical error,” her sister said.
If you watch this video, they have a photo of Lauren's shirt in the park.
“Every detective in my unit, there are nine of us, have interviewed multiple, multiple people,” Detective Jones said.“There isn’t any one person I wouldn’t rule out right now.”
The Ride for Lauren fundraiser has no set date yet - the family has purchased a web domain called werideforlauren.org but hasn't fixed up the site yet.
“We did find a shirt, it is here at the police department,” explained Cape Coral Lead Detective Nick Jones. “We do believe that it’s hers. I don’t have anything confirming one hundred percent, but we do believe that it’s hers.”
(I think the shirt they found is the red one in the photo at the link above)
Lauren’s boyfriend said he didn’t hear from her after he left to go to work. He claims he didn’t get a call or text from her that morning, despite phone records saying otherwise, according to her family.
“Maybe she was looking for an apartment, to get out of where we were at,” he said. “So I was thinking she was looking for an apartment around, and I don’t know, maybe someone took advantage of that, and that was it, and never came back. That’s my theory.”
Gabriel said she wasn’t using drugs and wouldn’t harm herself. Her family agreed.
BBM - why would she be looking for a new apartment when she was actively job hunting and without current employment? They were clearly having money troubles due to COVID and I think that'd be the least likely time to look for a new apartment. They had just paid rent (thanks to Lauren's sister).
Her boyfriend Gabriel said he hasn’t been able to take down any pictures of her in the apartment they shared, hoping she is still alive for her daughter’s sake.
“I love you to the moon and back,” he cried. “Me, her, her daughter. We always said that. We love you to the moon and back. And not to be able to hear her voice, or see her, it just hurts.”
“Did you have anything to do with Lauren’s disappearance?” Digital EP Bein asked.
“No, I don’t got nothing to do with it,” Gabriel insisted.
While her family admits Lauren wasn’t perfect, as nobody is perfect, they wonder if her free-spirit, loving and accepting ‘namaste’ personality got her into trouble.
“She always saw the best in people,” her father remembered. “She would always see the best in people, she never judged anyone. Now, maybe she should have.”
