Family of missing Cape Coral woman hiring private investigator

Her cellphone left at her apartment and her purse found in a park she often went to meditate are the last clues Lauren Dumolo left behind for her family.

After pleas from the family to bring in outside agencies, such as Lee County Sheriff's Office and the FBI, to help, Paul Dumolo, Lauren Dumolo's father, is hiring a private investigator.
This poor family. So much loss. This is heartbreaking.

Snips:
The family continues to suffer loss.

On Oct. 15, Lauren Dumolo's mother, Laura Decker, died after contacting COVID-19 in the hospital, according to a GoFundMe page started for funeral coasts.

Decker had been found unresponsive in her home, was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with kidney failure, a UTI infection, sepsis and pneumonia, the page states.

Four days later, Lauren Dumolo's stepmother, Tracey Dumolo, also died.

Vanished: Private investigator hired to help find missing Cape Coral mother - NBC2 News

An additional link

There has been no trace of Lauren since the morning she went missing. No video. No calls. No sightings.

“With the forensics and technology that we have, It’s really hard for me to understand and comprehend why there is nothing out there,” Paul explained.

While the Cape Coral Police Department has been investigating the case for nearly five months, Lauren’s family has hired a private investigator to help.

“I understand that there are things the police can’t tell you. I get that. But there are certain things that, you know, I would like answers to, that I can’t get. And I’m not sure why.”

Lauren was last seen by a maintenance man Friday morning. Her boyfriend, Gabriel Pena, said he chatted with Lauren in the morning. When he came home from work around 10 p.m., Lauren wasn’t home.

Pena reported her missing the following Sunday, filling out a missing persons report at the Cape Coral Police Department at the request of Lauren’s father. Unfortunately, the officer taking the report, misfiled it, coding it wrong, and investigators didn’t start looking into her case until the following Thursday. Four days later.

One thing Paul said frustrates him the most is total of six days lost where someone could have been searching for her.

“All that time that went by left someone to be able to clean up their mess. That’s very important. A huge error. Huge.”

Why is her mother not out searching, why didn't she not go to her own daughter's vigil, why haven't we seen her pleading for answers. Her mother lives directly across the street from the park. No excuses for not even going to the vigil. Her mother's BF and Lauren's BF work together...... Very sad. Something very off about this And I don't believe he saw her the morning if the 19th. Just my opinion.

First, my condolences w/ loss of Lauren’s mother...

But my mind keeps going back to the mom & the mom’s boyfriend.
Does anyone know where I can find the info about the mom’s bf & Lauren’s bf working together?

I thought I read an article that Lauren’s daughter was staying with her grandmother- would that have been Laura?
I hope her daughter is safe with family somewhere.

Her daughter lives with the paternal grandmother. Laura is her maternal grandmother who lived across the street from Four Freedoms Park.

Inside the Strange Disappearance of One Florida Mom: This Is a 'Complete & Utter Nightmare'

See the purse, the shirt, the apartment and video from Lauren’s job search. Cape Coral detective Nick Jones, sister Cassie, father Paul and friend Erika.

New info: Lauren’s orange nails found in the yard.

Thanks for sharing!

To Note:
•Two of Lauren’s cellphones were found in her apartment.
•Her wallet, debit card, etc were still in her purse when found.
•Orange fingernails like the ones Lauren wore were found.
•LE states there is no evidence that leads to GP being involved in Lauren’s disappearance.

This was a great story on Lauren's case, very helpful details shared.

Question on the Wawa security cams - I didn't see Lauren on the snippet they showed? What was she wearing that day? Have any of you seen other footage? Curious if she had that burgandy lace shirt on?

The orange nails found on the ground outside her apartment, that was a new detail I hadn't heard before. Scary and concerning, as that indicates a struggle took place, IMO. This story also states the bf has taken a poly and passed, and has an alibi that checks out. But the detective mentions DV and we see photo's of bruises on Lauren. Can someone remind me of the timeline details in this case?

How far was the Wawa from her home? I’m guessing she walked or took the bus everywhere?
Did someone come see her unexpectedly? Ex-boyfriend? Bio dad?

JUNE 18
Lauren was supposedly seen on video as she applied for jobs.
I paused the video, took screenshots, & zoomed in on every section...and I couldn’t find her in any of them (it may just be too small or dark for me though ).

JUNE 19
The detective stated the bf left early that morning for work. I can’t be certain but wasn’t the time around 6am? I ask because the detective then stated the bf returned home from work around 9:30-10pm. Wonder if long hours like this were typical for the bf?

JUNE 20
Her purse (with her belongings) was found in the park.
Question I have:
Who exactly found her purse?
(note: Lauren hadn’t been reported missing yet)

JUNE 21
Her bf reports her missing

More Questions:
•Do we know what date LE went to Lauren’s apt to look around, found 2 cellphones, & fingernail?
•The video stated LE found two of Lauren’s cellphones. Were there possibly more? What’s the reasoning behind her having multiple cellphones?
•When was the selfie of Lauren with orange fingernails taken?

I agree that finding the fingernail points to a possible struggle. It’s stated it was found in the grass near her apt. Does that mean as in her yard area, a common area at the apt complex, etc? I’d think if there was a struggle that occurred right outside the apt, someone would have noticed. Maybe??
Or could there have been a struggle inside the apt and the nail fell?
Or could it be that Lauren had a nervous habit of picking at her nails or it was coming off already & she pulled the nail off discarding it in the grass?

I thought I heard the detective state in the video that the bf took a lie detector test, passed it, and provided an alibi...but I wasn’t sure since we’ve only been told up to now that it couldn’t be confirmed or denied any of that had occurred.
