TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Leon County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identify a man who died in 2015.

LCSO says they were notified of a deceased individual on December 17, 2015 around 4:30 p.m. in the Ochlocknee River under the U.S. 27 North bridge.

The man is described as a white male who is 5'9", 160 pounds and between 40-50 years of age.

Deputies say a surveillance video from the Publix in the 5800 block of North Monroe Street on December 16, 2015 captured the man wearing a white tshirt and dark pants.

Authorities say they're continuing to investigate to determine identity and the circumstances surrounding his death.

The second article was published in April 2018. Sounds like they identified him in July 2018. Thanks for finding that!

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Leon County Sheriff's Office says it has positively identified a man found dead near the Ochlocknee River Bridge and Highway 27 North in 2015.

Deputies say the man has been identified as 56-year-old Michael Lee Alexander.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol located Alexander deceased on the river bank on December 17, 2015. Deputies say Alexander appeared to have been hit by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

Investigators are still seeking information about what happened in the moments leading up to Alexander's death. If you have any information about this case call 850-606-3300.
