SadieMae, you are an angel for taking that boy in and helping him. In many abuse cases, it's a flip of the coin how the child turns out; those who have a positive influence in their lives tend to make it, more so than if they had no one.

Tangela Key, 36, pleaded guilty to child neglect in the death of her 8-year-old son Levares Key. In December she was sentenced to serve a year in the jail's work release program, followed by 10 years of probation...

Key was also ordered to attend parenting classes and psychological counseling as part of her sentence. She will have contact with her minor children only as permitted by dependency court, and is barred from unsupervised contact with persons younger than 16...

Demetrius pleaded no contest to manslaughter in November 2008 and is serving probation until he turns 19.
