A Florida grandmother who had been missing since December was found dead in her vehicle on Saturday as residents braced for Hurricane Irma.

The body of Loraine "Lori" Feliciano-Pino was spotted in a Palm Beach County canal in Boca Raton, giving closure to the family.

The sheriff's office did not confirm the identity of the body found in the vehicle, but loved ones told the Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach Post that it was Feliciano-Pino in the car.

So sad. I was wondering if the storm would reveal anyone's location.

She was found deceased in her SUV submerged in a canal in Boca. They were draining due to the hurricane coming and found it. So sad.

I thought her car was found already on the side of the road? Going back to read. So confused and so very sad.
ETA I guess I was wrong about her car being found. Still a little iffy on the circumstances. I guess we wait on the official id and cod.

I guess I missed where it was confirmed to be Lori by LE as she got moved to located. Sadly closure for the family as the result of the approaching hurricane.

ETA According to local officials, her 2011 Toyota RAV4 SUV and five other vehicles were uncovered in the Boca Rio canal, which is located near her home.
