Are we sure that he is an immigrant only. Or does he still have citizenship somewhere else.
I would hate to see this become a Hague case, those take forever for any kind of resolution (although the embassy is sometimes good at getting photos and updates sent out.)

I really don't care where this child turns up, as long as he turns up and is alive and unharmed.

The search for 3-year-old Luke Finch ended early this morning. The United States Coast Guard located the sailboat late last night and kept the boat under surveillance the entire night. By sunrise today, two Coast Guard Cutters and a helicopter converged on the sailboat and safely recovered Luke.

Right now, Luke is aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Crocodile which is expected in at the Coast Guard Station in Ft. Myers Beach at approximately 7:00 p.m. tonight. Detective Nellie Woodruff is also aboard the Cutter with Luke. Luke seems to be in good health. Investigators are transporting Luke’s mother to Ft. Myers for the reunion.

Paul Martikainen is still aboard the sailboat which is being towed to shore by the Coast Guard Cutter Kodiak Island. They will make landfall much later in the evening, at which time Martikainen will be taken in custody by the FBI on a Federal arrest warrant.

A U.S. Coast Guard C-130 airplane spotted the boat via radar late Monday night and it and other fixed-wing aircraft kept the vessel under surveillance from some distance the entire night, authorities said. By sunrise today, two Coast Guard cutters and a helicopter converged on the craft and safely recovered Luke, Matthews said.

Thank GOD! I am sooo happy to see this news! So relieved for this little guy and his mama!

As for the crazy SOB who donated his swimmers, I hope he is locked behind bars for a LONG LONG time!

The courts should really take a good look at custody and visitation requests when a parent WILLINGLY agrees to give up their paternal rights as part of a divorce agreement such as this couples. It takes a LOT imo, to voluntarily give up ones parental rights. I can not help but get the feeling this father had little interest in his son, but rather claimed he had bonded with the child as a load of crap to put revenge into play to take what this mother loved most. I have a feeling this guy is far more interested in retaliation against his ex than he is his son. Especially with the manner in which he took this child endangering both of their lives on the sea with no experience and allegedly no life vest for this child.

Clearly this should be a lesson to this judge about heading warnings and not automatically assuming all allegations of abuse are false. I hope this is a hard wake up knock on this judges noggin'!
