Unless you go out of the country and have it done. I know some that have gone to Mexico for the procedure. Just plunk your money down and do the surgery. Nothing else required.
Great point! We see that all the time.

Still, it's not exactly cheap. And there would be travel expenses involved.

The whole money thing is confusing anyway. Having a 350 dollar botox appointment, yes she canceled it last minute due to saving money but still when did she planned it? Being upset having to leave their house and arrange a hotel room and having no money for it. At the same time stating she thought SS went out shopping because that is what he does when he gets stressed. Feels like a rollercoaster.

And if Maddie's money birthday gifts suddenly weren't enough to pay the $350 treatment?? Maybe, counting the money was so very important because of that?

Snipped for focus

Not trying to pick on you, but I work in the healthcare industry, and what constitutes elective surgery versus non-elective surgery is widely misunderstood. A non-elective surgery is most often one that has to be performed immediately to save a person's life--for example, an emergency tracheotomy or an appendectomy.

Elective surgery is surgery that the patient needs but doesn't have to be performed right away, such as surgery to remove a cancerous tumor or replace a knee.

That being said, I think what you are wondering is where in the world SS got the money for bariatric surgery. It's a good question IMO. If he wasn't working it certainly wasn't through employer-paid health insurance.

Also, I don't know how things are elsewhere, but in my organization a patient must successfully complete an extensive process that includes nutritional and psychological evaluations before a medical doctor will authorize a bariatric procedure.

Hope this info is helpful.
They may have gone to Mexico for the surgery. Many just head over the border, offering bariatric and cosmetic surgery at a very deep discount. Cash only.

My friend looked into going to Mexico when her insurance notified her, they would only cover a few diagnostic test prior to surgery. We both worked in the medical community and our physician friends warned her "no US doctor will treat you for complications".

Just more lies to cause confusion. If she’s collecting money from the government due to her “disability”, it certainly isn’t enough to live on, let alone for Botox injections! Puleez! Seriously, why bother?
The condo she lives in wouldn’t be Section 8 Housing, would it? IMO

That wouldn’t surprise me in the least. They took everything else from her, why not her birthday money too! @@

It's owned by her parents.

Where did the story about Madeline being unhappy with the amount she got came from? Was that independently verified, or did that come from JS?

OMG, I didn’t know that. What is wrong with people? She’s a grown woman, who once had a child. So she’s living off Mom and Dad and so is, or was, SS. And she must have been collecting Child Support payments from her ex. I’m sure she’s feeling the pinch now. IMO

And we also read about how many women end up dead! It’s very risky going out of the country for cosmetic procedures. You get what you pay for. IMO

My guess is, yes. And wonder who else might have knowledge of that or assisted. Only my musings.
Sadly @LetsSolvIt and @flowershop it seems probable IMO that SS might have either sold or shared or even traded perhaps information and images?

For this reason IMO it is essential that investigators and prosecutors get to the bottom of all electronic devices, computers, phones, networks, routers, modems, internet provider access, etc. involved in this case. Including the supposed missing hard drive that SS’s father spoke of IIRC in the statements and in one of their interviews. That might assist with additional charges being laid in the case. And additional charges if brought IMO might also change the dynamics and relationships between those associated with this tragic case of MS. And to aid in bringing justice for her having been abused for an apparent prolonged period and her untimely death. IANAL. MOO

I would expect SS to be involved with selling, transmitting or however else those types share that perverted material amongst themselves.
IMO

I don’t know, but I did read it somewhere in here.

IIRC it came from one of the police interview with one of her friends.

Okay, that's alright then. I couldn't recall if it came just from JS, which would put a different tone on it. I trust her friends to be truthful.

Going back to the Room 4 and Rent question, has JS's dad been interviewed? I don't recall seeing anything from him. Hoping he would have been asked about the rent situation. I just find it hard to believe that he wouldn't let MS have that room, but he could have needed that rent money and was already doing the best he could to help JS. It would get old putting up with supporting her. I bet both JS parents walked a fine line between between wanting to let her know exactly what kind of mother she was and JS keeping MS from them, and just trying to help maintain them and keep contact. I'm sure MS was used as a bargining tool by JS.

Correct me if im going off the rails here, but i remember a rumor that she didnt bring the birthday money home from grandma's house. Does anyone know?
What about the whole christmas money debacle. It all is just plain weird.

Acc. to JS, they counted the money gifts, sitting on JS' bed all three. That were the same moments, were MS was so very happy, happy, happy. After this money-telling-session, MS/SS went upstairs to go to bed. Do I remember wrong?

No I don't believe so, that is how I remember it very early on in the investigation. JMO

Yes your right. That's what she said.

I don't think she was unhappy with the money, from what I remember she was unhappy about how many " friends" did not come to her party even though she invited many people??? . I cant remember if she invited people or if it was an open invitation type post.
and about Jenn, I recall hearing that she was supposed to get money from her mom and didnt? and thats what she was disappointed about. I dont know how true that is, I think it was in the first police reports that came out and that came from one of maddies friends.
