she said that when they broke up, JS was talking alot of trash about SS yet he stayed in the house until some time in Dec.....then he returned for visits but JS at this point wasnt addressing WHY or talking to her like before. and she didnt ask??? I guess, like she said, 'she says in her own business'.

are we sure it was that pic and not the "Lana del ray" one? Im thinking if it was the graphic one, they would have kept it, the counsellor would have, but I was confused when/ where they found that last graphic one. Truth be told I skimmed the interviews with teachers and roommates, they didnt seem to offer much or shed any light on things. Maybe I'll listen again.

she's the first interview: 2/29 no commentary - its worth a listen, her entire interview but it begins at this linked point in the audio, she mentions she reached out to JS and why:

IANAL …. so can’t comment on this question. But reading this insight prompted this thought……

So for all the feigned ‘I don’t know’, ‘not sure’, ‘I think so, or maybe not’, or ‘it could have been’ answers (or words to that effect to investigators) from JS and seeming out of touch or aloofness displayed and almost clueless - then how did this individual JS so readily realize at that moment when confronted with the material found that……. ‘uh oh’ (my words) ….. that SS best get a lawyer quickly?

IIRC, after she said that to the investigator, he immediately asked her why she said that, and her response was a flippant “because they have the wrong guy!”. Feel free to correct me if I’m mistaken.

IMO, she once again abbreviates evening conversation with Madeline that nite. I would think that conversation about being ready for school would occur that nite, for instance, a reminder....'are you ready for school tomorrow'....

instead, in her subpoena LE interview she corrects herself when answering about discussing getting ready for school and what she would be wearing. changes WE to "I"....and when was 'prior'?

why wasnt she specifically asked when this discussion occurred? frustrates me. (or did LE already know, having JS, SS and Madeline's text history?)

WJ: Okay. Alright. Now, Madeline, does she lay out her clothes for school the next day, or is that something she gets in the morning, makes a game-time decision like my kid?

JS: (Quick Sigh) Typically It is a game-time decision, morning of.

WJ: Okay, what about this specific evening, do you remember anything about it?

JS: Yes. This evening WE had, um, I had already discussed prior to Stephan coming to visit that he was going to help me take Maddie to school that day. Um, so because I knew that that was what was going to happen that night, I had asked Maddie to pick out your clothes, have everything ready, have your backpack ready, your water bottle, everything you need ready, so that way you could just grab your stuff and head out. It won’t be too much--too much of a hassle in the morning. Um, and so she did. She picked out her clothing. I asked her what she was wearing, and she told me what she had picked out. I said, “Okay, fine.”

I believe, in some states, once children are of a certain age (12/13) their choice of which parent to live with is considered by the courts. Maybe MS had heard that, maybe that gave her some hope. IIRC JS and MS bio-dad did have custody battles. I think if MS found out that SS was going to move back in, that little spark of hope might have given her to courage to finally tell someone, maybe something about her new age of 13 gave her some confidence. JMO.

According to this, Florida does not have a specific age in which children are allowed to speak up for themselves about custody arrangements; they can do so at any age. The catch is the judge has to consider the age of the child, their emotional and mental maturity, their health, and of course the totality of the circumstances.

Did she draw that because SHE has her eye on someone, or because someone (SS) has an eye on her at all times? Perhaps he's said that to her to keep her in line.

Wouldn't surprise me to learn he had cameras he could remotely access -- "you're just so beautiful, I want to see you all the time". Maybe that's why she took hour long showers. It's the only place she felt safe.

BFF told me that Maddie and Stefan were very close and that they would communicate frequently. Whenever she asked Maddie about it, she said that they just had a close relationship. BFF told me that she received two pictures of Stefan that Maddie had sent her. She described them as screenshots that appeared to have taken during a time when they were FaceTiming, however, BFF was not able to locate the photos.
