Possible...or she might be interested in what was going on at home while she was running her business.

And maybe she found out. :ohwow:

I have every confidence that LE knows more and is building a case. Makeva has not been forgotten by us here at WS. We will wait for justice.

My theory:

The killer got a ride to the location or close by. Probably didn't do too much on foot because people might see him.
The killer had been told beforehand that only M would be killed unless the mother-in-law tried to run.

The killer was paid a deposit. Who would do that on just a promise?

I guarantee you the killer was shown her picture or her Facebook page so they knew how she looked.

The killer was picked up near where the car was found. So there are at least 3 conspirators here.

How sad. This woman had overcome so much, only to have her life violently taken from her. So many questions come to my mind, like:

  • Are LE certain it was Makeva who made the post about her 6-figure income on FB? Can they determine the exact time of the post, where it was posted from (did anyone else have access to her account), and who was online when it was posted?

  • Did the intruder wear a mask? Did any of the adults, or even the children, in the home recognize him?

  • Where did the children go when they were sent out of the house?

  • Why was Makeva alone shot? Was there an altercation between Makeva and the intruder? If so, what was it over?

  • Was anything stolen from the home other than the vehicle which was later abandoned? Was anything stolen from the vehicle?

I hope Makeva's killer is identified and apprehended soon. Rest peacefully, beautiful lady. :rose:

*The killer wore a mask but the type of mask has not been released.
It is unlikely the police would release info on whether the children recognized him.
It was a male intruder.
Nothing was stolen from either the house or the car.
The children were sent into a back bedroom.
Husband and mother-in-law(M's mother) were tied up along with M. M was shot once in the head and intruder demanded car keys and left.*

Correction
The third person in the house was M's brother. Not her mother.

The victims were tied up? Were there ligature marks on their wrists? Who untied them after the intruder left? :waitasec: (I'd expect the children to be hesitant to emerge from the back bedroom after hearing he gunshots, but possibly one of the surviving adults called to them when it was safe -- but, wouldn't they have shielded the children from seeing their deceased mother?)

I'll reiterate that it's just odd for an intruder to only demand keys to a vehicle after executing the woman of the house and then abandoning the same vehicle a short distance away. I think he wanted to make a quick get-away but didn't want the real get-away vehicle caught on surveillance. But, may not have anticipated that there could be surveillance cameras in the area he drove the stolen vehicle to, and that LE would be able to trace his movements from there. Hopefully, he and all involved made some sloppy errors which will lead to arrests.

Odd indeed. The wife answers the door at 2 am? Wouldn't the husband go to the door at that hour?
Not sure on the ligature marks. I think they must have truly been tied up though as one of the adults was her brother. I doubt he'd be in on this.

This is taking too long. I'm getting antsy. I'm sure they know who did it, guess it's just a matter of getting evidence.

I remember reading her story about being homeless and turning it around. I hadn't heard that she was killed after.

I was thinking the third adult was his brother, but this article does make it sound like it was her brother:

Jenkins’ grandmother, Gloria Harold Willis, said Jenkins’ husband and brother, along with her two young children, were in the home that morning. Jenkins’ oldest daughter, 13, was in Tampa with her father, Harold Willis said.

But, other articles I can find stating who was at the residence during the home invasion say the third adult was a friend:

Her husband, Euri Jenkins, told WPEC he was with MaKeva just after 1:30 a.m. inside their home in Lake Worth when a masked gunman forced them, a friend and their children upstairs at gunpoint.

http://cbs12.com/news/local/investigators-seize-cable-bill-cell-phones-from-murdered-mothers-home

There is so little information on this crime, and of what little info is out there some is contradictory. It is possible, though, that EJ and his BIL were good friends.

If they really were tied up, then who untied them? The only children in the home were 1 and 7. A 1-year-old couldn't untie a knot. Even a 7-year-old wouldn't be able to untie a rope/cord tied tight enough to hold 2 grown men. A 7-year-old wouldn't be able to cut through a rope or cord, either. Just something to think about. Where are the investigative reporters, HLN, Dr Phil, etc. with the hard questions?

MOO :moo:

Family of slain woman pleads for information to find killer

August 9, 2017

On what would have been Makeva Jenkins’ 34th birthday on Wednesday, her family pleaded for help in finding her killer.

At a news conference at Palm Beach County Sheriff’s headquarters in West Palm Beach, her grandmother Gloria Harold described Jenkins as an ambitious woman, who after living pay check to pay check, earned a masters degree and became a successful entrepreneur.

[...]

Detectives are asking anyone in that area, between 1:50 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. on June 29, a Thursday, whether they saw a car on the shoulder of the road. “If they saw anyone walking, please call the Sheriff’s Office,” said Oliver.

Detectives declined to answer any questions, citing the active homicide investigation.

[...]

Since the murder, [Makeva's grandmother, Gloria] Harold said she hasn’t spoke to Jenkins’ husband, Euri Jenkins, but said her family still gets along with him.

“We have no idea about her husband or where he is or what’s going on with that,” Harold said.

She also said the couple’s two younger children are with Euri Jenkins and that they haven’t been able to talk with them.
