Riviera Beach police said Cameron Rainey confessed that he killed Maryann Davis Friday because he was upset that she was in another relationship. The victim was beaten and choked. Rainey and Davis had a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old.

A Riviera Beach man with a history of violence received a 30-year prison sentence Tuesday for the fatal beating and choking of his girlfriend in July 2005.

In June, a jury convicted Cameron Rainey, 30, of manslaughter, a crime that carries up to 15 years behind bars. But Circuit Judge Krista Marx sentenced Rainey as a habitual felony offender, allowing her to double his time.
