What a joke. An hour ago CNN said he was interviwed twice by FBI.

Now Wolf is saying , an hour later, three times. Earlier it was two .

Here, we all totally know , when something is breaking we are gonna get stuff wrong. But we correct ourselves.

A day and a half after, I really do not think any of us would be , by the hour, volly balling any simple fact.

Motivation, far more complicated -- a concrete fact, which CNN seems to have a chronic problem with creates trust issues.

The only reason they are on is sometimes MSNBC wont play

No, and that's why we need to be ultra-super-duper careful about who we let into the US. Non-citizens who want to enter do NOT have any right to enter the US. We should require that they prove that they're not terrorists or terrorist sympathizers, AND that they have something to contribute to this country. We should vet them six ways from Sunday. If they can't prove who they are... they don't get in. If they don't have a squeaky-clean record, they don't get in. We err on the side of safety for US citizens. That will mean that some deserving people won't get in. That's okay with me. If we had been a little tougher in scrutinizing OM's father back in the 80s, there might be 100 people today who weren't shot on Saturday night.

I absolutely agree.
I met a Pakistan refugee who came to this country to escape being killed by her own father she attended University for free, became a chemist started selling meth, etc..was making hand over fist cash. She made terroristic threats.
She said she hated all Infidels we should all die. Yet, her clients were the gay community and she was bi-sxual. Self hating homosexual. She made many threats towards me, others and govt buildings. I reported her FBI could careless.
She was associated with others involved in 911 and the London bombings, still nada. shrug want can you do?
I guess making threats is no big deal nowadays or affiliation with terrorists. This was back in the late 90's, her behavior scared me.

So who determines "hate speech" b/c I have some friends who'd be in jail right now, if we had freedom of speech similar to Russia's, over some things they've said about our POTUS. What may be "hate" or "incitement" to you may not be "hate" or 'incitement" to them. To them, they may just be blunt and speaking their mind... Kind of like the Senator who prayed that the POTUS' days would be numbered, and then other Senator who put a rather vile response to Orlando on his FB. Should they fall in this category? I think what they both did were disgusting so do I get to decide if they go to jail? Who gets to determine what is incitement? Do we throw all of the KKK members in prison? Just b/c they speak their mind? I'm not fond of the KKK but they have the same Constitutional rights that I do. We are a large country w/many diverse populations and we all are not going to see eye to eye and sing Kumbaya at the end of the day.

Oh, this is easy. If you wish death on someone. Or on a whole group of people. If you advocate violence...that crosses the line. If the KKK is agitating for the death of people of a certain race, arrest them. If the Black Panthers are inciting people to "kill Whitey" , arrest them. We don't need to sing Kumbaya. We can really, really dislike each other. But when you bring an Iranian Imam to town to say it's "compassionate" to kill Gays...that is intolerable.

Advocating death or violence. That should be something we ALL agree on. Who even wants to hear that verbal vomit?

So when daddy was accepted into US, people who accepted him should have been able to predict that this daddy was going to have a child who was going to grow up to be a terrorist (30 years into the future?) How would you expect them to do that?

Did I say that?

No, I did not. Please don't put words in my mouth.

The shooter was not religious. He was a terrible 'islamic' terrorist - pledging allegiance at different times, to four different shia and sunni groups. He didn't have a clue. He was just a terrible, violent, human being.

His motivation (by everything i've read) is down to repressed homosexuality. Hating who he is, hating gay people.

Here we are again discussing an act of terrorism on US soil that took so many precious lives from this earth. Can nothing be done to stop this insanity? I'm kind of glad that I am getting up in age and won't be here for as long as I have been to see these crimes committed over and over again with no end in sight. Just sickening.

IN tears...WFTV just showed all the photos of the victims (that they had) with their names. This is so terribly sad!

How does a young person (any terrorist, not just this one) become so disillusioned by life and so filled with hate, that killing many others in your suicide is an option.

Most of us here can state......My child would never do this.
How do we know?

Those who are of the view that Muslims should be denied entry to the US. I ask with all due respect. Will you stop them visiting as well?
Guns are easily accessible in the US for those with a little cash to splash.
A terrorist could slip in amongst the millions of tourists each year and still kill many people.

Or worse, you will lose the tourist dollars, student dollars, and healthcare dollars of legitimate Muslims who visit.
How will you know who the Muslims are?

When family and friends are made to feel unwelcome in your country, US born Muslims may leave, taking their skills with them.
Do not expect to be welcomed in any Muslim country in country tit for tat.

When you have rid yourself of all the Islamic terrorists (and Muslims) take a look at your annual mass shooting numbers, they may fall to pre 2001 levels. You will now be free to work on homegrown mass shooters.

The only way to stop the attacks is to stop young people becoming radicalized, to do that you will need to understand how and why it happens. This involves a dialogue, this will be difficult if there is no one left to talk to.

Government has to play their part too. There are as many answers as there are questions, but your country isn't able to lock the windows, switch on the alarm system and keep the world out.

BTW. If every country that had US immigrants in their penal systems decided to deport them in reciprocation, you will need a few more jails.

Awesome post sir/madam!!

cash to splash

loved it!!

With the new information I am reading about the 2nd wife (or girlfriend) I am reminded that last night (Sunday) I saw on my local news that there was some connection between Mateen and a member of a family that resides in Rodeo, California. Now, it becomes clear who they were talking about. Haven't watched or listened to any local news yet today.

OM wasn't even born yet when his father immigrated into US.

Exactly.

If daddy had been better-vetted, they might have discovered Islamic terrorist sympathies. And daddy might not have been allowed to enter the US. And then OM wouldn't have been born in the US. And he wouldn't have been here to shoot 100 people on Saturday night.

How many people are flooding in the US every day with insufficient vetting? How many of them, or their children, will commit how many terrorist acts in the future, because we didn't vet people carefully enough?

It might be. But, I've been listening to the WFTV newscast which has been streaming and their reporter is saying that it is someone who might be in another part of the state or another state altogether. They are putting together all the records and documents they need and expect to make an arrest in the next two days.

Also, they will cover and stream the candlelight vigil tonight at 7 PM EDT.

Sounds, like the baby's mother wants nothing to do with him.

It does make sense that the " teacher" goaded him into doing his duty.

The teacher is an American ex marine?

You bring home a stray dog. He bites you. You think about how he was neglected and mistreated and your heart melts. You buy him healthy food...make a little bed. He bites your neighbor. You think about how he was neglected and mistreated, and you give him more attention, more love. You come home one day and he's killed your cat. You start to wonder and worry. The pity starts to slip away.

Today, you find him atop your child, ripping at his skin.

Bye. BYe.

Too much has happened.

Maybe not here. Not on this thread. But many of us are flat out of compassion. It's it's not because of what WE have done. It's the body count. It's the violence. It's the loss of innocent people just living our way of life. Because some find our way of life objectionable to their religion. They want us dead to pay for it.

Now we want something DONE. I don't care why they hate. Sorry. I care about the precious lives that have been lost while we were being exploited in our National Pity Party.

It's cumulative. The violence is our teacher.

The "News" is not the "News" of my childhood, or my kid's childhood, for that matter. News can now be obtained 24/7 from just about anywhere. My phone, my television, my laptop, desktop, sitting in a fast food restaurant, and even in some of the nicer restaurants they'll have a t.v. on in the bar area. I think, because of this change, that the race to be the best, has been replaced by the race to be first . They are not always the same.

IMO Islam should be banned as it is not compatible with the US Constitution. Arab Muslims don't assimilate and no country has ever bettered themselves by allowing muslim immigration. No one should be allowed to immigrate here from any country that bans churches & synagogues, stones women and gays to death and subjects young girls to butter knife clitorectomies. Europe, as you knew it, is GONE.

I don't lock the windows, I conceal and carry at all times. I am an American who happens to be Jewish. I love life, freedom & country and I'm 100% islamophobic. I don't consider that a bad thing
