Thank you, ocean. You saved me the trouble.

"Spin spin spin" to protect the ultimate protected class and hide its true danger. I don't know why so many want to pretend Islamic terrorism isn't a grave threat. We must have signs warning about the presence of alligators, and we must have unbreachable barriers at zoos, but heaven forbid we even acknowledge the threat posed by Islamic terrorism, much less actually do something about it.

Talk about spin; you keep saying this - it's as though you have it on a loop... I'm pretty certain that the overwhelming majority here agree that extremist/radical (whatever you want to call it) Islamic terrorism is a severe and deadly threat to us and others all around the world, including moderate Muslims themselves; the disagreements arise in how exactly to combat the issue and that's where discussion and debate, in my opinion, is a very good thing. That's how we come up with real solutions, not just knee-jerk, "trample all over everyone's rights" reactionary responses.

So she finds out he is in pulse blowing hell out of everyone and she calls his dr. And then, the Dr calls him and says "are you off your meds?". I can't even.

I asked you earlier, but no response. What do you think should be done about this? What specifically, should the US do about it? I understand your rage (I think) but I have the impression that you think that it is our duty and obligation to rearrange the rest of the planet to suit our needs. We SHARE this planet. " PC" is so trite to try to disparage diplomacy and civility. I agree with you that some of the terrorism in our world is inspired by skewed, perverse understanding of centuries old religious text. But not all terrorism has its roots in Islam. JMO

No matter what the reason for the attack, it behooves people to develop a safety plan. I used to ask a co-worker who had a private office what her plan would be if she heard shots being fired or pops or whatever. She hadn't really thought about it much so we did some research etc. (This was before the 'Run, Hide, Fight' sort of stuff.
Consequently, she and I developed our own plan just in case. We have to be hyper-aware of our surroundings more and more lately.
I feel so badly because the victims must have all been so frozen in terror.

He was kicked out of LE academy because he was falling asleep and asked another student.. if I brought a gun to class would you tell anyone. This was shortly after VT shooting. CNN

Just out CNN

he was kicked out of the LE academy cause he kept falling a sleep in class (inability to sleep when manic). Right after the Virgina tech masacare , he asked the teacher if he bought a gun to class "would you tell"

Bizaire thinking?

Texts between wife one was "have you seen the news" she then said I love you

I did not know he worked that day

No, he called a friend in DC that has a medical background but LE do not believe he has any involvement.

No psych exam during FBI probe and he also bought his wife very expensive jewelry just recently.

CNN clearing up all there mistakes today.

Totally changes it. The deal (again odd behavior) with the cheering 911.

He did that after people, on 911 were busting him about 9/11

so the stuff did not just come of the blue -- he was responding to being teased.

Cleared this up also ---the way the reported they made it sound like he had been on jihad sites for a peroid of time. The reality is (again manic) it was a sudden flurry of looking that stuff upline.

It was not a chronic pattern - it was a burst of searching

.
Marcus Robertson said that Mateen never registered for any of his classes and that they never had a face-to-face interaction.

http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/06/14/imam-i-dont-know-orlando-gunman-attacks-dont-represent-islam

Going to the middle east means you went to the middle east. Generalization that anyone who goes to the middle east is their for terror training imo ..might not be accurate

Of course Marcus Robertson DENIES thaT this shooter was a student of his. That does not make it true, in my opinion. :liar:

WE KNOW he did it. We are also learning just how much of a fruitcake he was. I'm not so sure that even ISIS would have accepted him. JMO They were happy to take credit for his massacre, though. Good propaganda. YUCK JMO

Has it been verified that Omar was bisexual. Or was he trying to set up a way to meet and kill gay men or what.

Interesting excerpt from the Time article Cariis linked.

They found that 48 people were killed by white terrorists, while 26 were killed by radical Islamists, since Sept. 11.

Well in one mass shooting Mateen murdered more at one time than they are listing for white terrorists in total since 911.

Since 9/11 ?? Why don't we include 9/11 and see how those numbers look ? Let's see here........ 48 versus 3000 !!?

The total number of people killed due to violent Jihadists attacks on U.S. soil since 2002--- 96

http://securitydata.newamerica.net/extremists/deadly-attacks.html

How many lives have been saved because the Jihadists were thwarted or stopped by law enforcement, NSA, CIA, DHS, of FBI before they could carry out their attack ?? I'm sure dozens, if not hundreds.

You know what I think the reason is for the points you bring up --some can result in lawsuits and the other cant..............................

While we are all here, hurting and parsing the details. I have hope....

I hope that all Western leaders will get together and come up with a plan TONIGHT. They could start with using some computer savvy techs to devise programs to find all the hate filled radicalization on the internet (if the average enraged teen can find it......experts can IMO).

I hope they will hack and remove content instantly (they could have office competitions, with a bonus for most take downs).

I hope they will start dropping fools gold over the areas where these guys operate, destroy their economy not their infrastructure (we have to pay to rebuild it).
I hope they destroy all their printers (so they can't print their magazine).
I hope they drop illegal drugs by the plane load. (It destroys our neighbourhoods.....it will destroy theirs too).

Seriously though, we need to force them into spending big bucks, without money they can't recruit. No propoganda to encourage every lone wolf crazy out there. Don't drop bombs, drop money (counterfeit of course), drop drugs (not the prescription type), drop pig 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 (not sure if this is available, but photoshop is useful), drop propoganda of our own....... do anything but sit here and worry.

Because while we sit here and debate the right label, or the right response, some crazy who wants to make a name for himself is googling the ISIS guides.

But that wont really stop anything --way more terrorist attacks are caused by white Americans - linked earlier.

  • #577
Only in America would you find people telling someone who said they were a terrorist, they aren't.

As far as I know he never said that. He said I want you to stop bombing the h&ll over there. I feel that way, I am not a terrorist!!

The one thing we know he has made all sorts of comments --all of which were not true!!

Dexter.....my reply link is goofy, as well as thanks. So far no male has admitted to having had sex with him, so no verification. But who on earth would admit it? JMO

And this ^^ is the thinking that I disagree wholeheartedly with and will put us on a very dangerous course for sure. I have two very dear friends who are Muslim and I have worked with several doing local community social service work and, I can tell you this; only those who have never had a personal or work relationship with an individual who is Muslim could say something like this (ignorance).

MO ~
do you (or your dear muslim friends) agree that as muslims theyre susceptible to being self-radicalized into acts of violence as this guy & others were, per official govt position?
if so taking any active steps to try & avoid it?
