I don't think I said they are downtrodden Whatever.

I am only going by what many have called for in the past and that is to not announce who these shooters are. All mass shooters.

There are many articles written about this. We know the Columbine shooters have been heroes to some. And I wonder if that theatre shooter down south got the idea from the Colorado shooter.

It sure seems like the Orlando shooter wanted attention. FB and texting in the middle of all of this? Calling 911?

I think the Manson killers wanted to do more for their revered leader. One even asked to go on the next kill.

To me, if we print the name of the guy who is the inspiration, that gives him validation, If you are no name, you don't even count.

Think of how you feel and you are somewhere and you are not introduced to anyone? It makes you feel like a non entity.

BBM

I'm struggling to understand this.

If you were murdered, wouldn't you want your murderer's name shouted from the rooftops?????

Wouldn't you want everyone to know who did this to you????????????????????????????

You are PROTECTING him, not YOU.

I would want it known far and wide who did this to me.

There are 49 dead victims and 53 suffering that want this known. They are hurt and suffering. Pretending this was something else is not a blessing. It does not make it better or easier.

If your husband abused and killed you... you would want everyone in the universe to know.

What is different here??????????

God Bless the Orlando Victims.

Mulling over what he managed to accomplish...IMO he WAS a real terrorist.

Would you please provide a link to the rules that terrorists adhere to? The clothing, food choice etc... I've googled that and haven't ' been able to find that information. Or is there a book? A Terrorist For Dummies book....

Sadly this stuff happens so often. While following both Paris attacks check out the videos. You will find all the things I described in their worlds.

French homes look there way. German ,Spainish. All cutlural. This apt is Americana. For this devout Moslim. it reflects him being born here, and western- not a religious fanatic like many of the others that do this kind of thing mmmm

I am saying that the guy who is the inspiration needs no honor. Maybe more nuts will kill in the name of OM. Vut the inspiration is the one I think nuts will kill for.

What do you think about the fact that the Columbine killers are inspiration for other killers?

What do you think about the fact that many people were calling for the end of publicizing the name of mass killers?

What do you think of the fact that many people thought mass killers were loving the notoriety?

I am asking because this was all over the net as well as a big discussion on here. I don't remember after which killing. Maybe Roof?

Actually,, if you state it you should provide links.

As I said I have googled and I can't find a checklist for Muslim terrorists on what they should wear and buy and eat. I'm serious. Please educate me.

From an article about the latest French Islamic terrorist attack:

In the chilling video he recorded while at the couple's house, Abballa urged ISIS sympathizers to attack police, prison officers or town officials.

"It's super simple," he said: "Just wait for them outside their offices."

It's a form of terrorism that needs no wider network, nor contacts with ISIS, nor the purchase of heavy weapons. As one official noted Thursday, the opportunities for such attacks are infinite.

What happened is in the news. We can't scrub that. What does the person's name have to do with inspiring others? If someone is so inclined to do it.... they don't need to know the name.

I am so concerned about edited, redacted etc information. Why tell me what happened but not the name? Oh... if I don't know their name then that makes all of the difference.

Let me make this public and clear.

If someone rapes me, mutilates me, murders me, robs me....

SHOUT THEIR NAME LOUD AND CLEAR. DO NOT PROTECT THEM.............. SAY IT OVER AND OVER.

I'd rather people remember THEIR name than MINE...............

Historically IMO it changesthe death toll. I think we would be astounded at how many died by friendly fire. No judgment - but the truth is the truth. On the two videos the amount of bullets flying around are stunning.
Surrounding the Breach I counted like 23 misses- thats more than 10% of the 202 they claim was fired by both him and LE

There is another clip

Finale barrage at around 2:10

At 12:40 cop says no ambulaence will be coming ??

Reading this, and seeing this, this make me think you are on your own...if I'm going to be accused of killing my own when I'm trying to save your life.. you are on your own... Save yourself.

If someone starts choking on my property I think I'll let them choke and die.

Thats better than being sued and blamed for trying to help.

That is what our country has come to.

Family Remembers Brenda Lee Marquez-McCool at Funeral.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/son-collap...r-protected-bullets-orlando/story?id=40002083

"I never thought that her life would be ended right in front of my eyes," he said, before collapsing in tears. "My mother accepted everyone with open arms. She loved everybody equally no matter what."

His brothers rushed to the pulpit to hold him up and console him.

"I haven't stopped crying since," Henderson said.

The funeral was also full of humor and colorful moments as Marquez-McCool’s family remembered her life. She was repeatedly referred to as a resilient woman who was a family leader and a fighter.

Henderson said he and his mother used to wrestle and "play fight," adding that his mother always won. “I obviously lost. She’s a linebacker!” he joked. His family roared with laughter.

Pulse D.J.s Recall How Joyful Beats Gave Way to Massacre Gunfire
As Mr. Rivera played traditional reggae tunes on the patio, Simon2001, whose real name is Simeon Alberto Roman Barria, was in another booth in the main dance room.

When the gunman, later identified as Omar Mateen, began his shooting spree, each D.J. cut the volume, trying to figure out what was going on. Mr. Rivera said he was only four feet from the club’s main exit on the patio, but he helped people get out before he fled.

Mr. Roman’s experience was different: He found himself cornered.

His D.J. booth was eight to 10 feet above the dance floor and only accessible by a ladder in a small room visible behind the bar. Behind the booth, in a loftlike area, was the manager’s office and a room used for storage.

“As soon as I heard the gunshots, I lowered the volume and ducked down,” Mr. Roman said during an interview at Mr. Rivera’s home.

After that, he said: “I crawled to hide behind an amplifier in the other room. I was there the entire three hours.”

Mr. Roman said he encountered the club’s lighting technician in the loft area; as they sought a haven, they were joined by a third man, who had been shot in the arm but managed to scramble up the ladder to relative safety.

Mr. Roman said the three huddled together, trying to get out texts and calls on a cellphone belonging to the injured man, who did not want to be named. Seconds after the injured man got up to the small storage room, five to six other people managed to reach the manager’s office and hide there.

Patience Carter spoke at a televised news conference at the hospital.

Orlando survivor: Gunman tried to spare black people
CBS News June 14, 2016

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/orlando-survivor-patience-carter-gunman-tried-to-spare-black-people/

“Carter described a bloody scene in the bathroom of Pulse nightclub, where survivors had sought refuge from the rampage that started out in the club, only to find themselves locked in with Mateen just before police breached a wall to get at him.

As she was lying on the floor looking over the "piles" of bloody bodies in the bathroom, she said she "made peace with God and within myself."

Carter said she asked God to take her away so the pain would stop.

After a while, police began shouting warnings to survivors to move away from the bathroom walls so they could blow them open, Carter said the gunman carefully executed a final three people, including a stranger who was shielding her.

"If it wasn't for that person shielding me it would've been me shot and I wouldn't be sitting here today," Carter said.

After the breach, she said the firefight was terrifying, and the explosives broke the pipes in the walls, sending water flooding into the bathroom. Carter said she was afraid of drowning "in bloody water," as police attempted to clear the room of any remaining danger.

While some have questioned the police decisions that night, Carter said she did not based on what she heard him saying, adding: "He wasn't going to stop killing people till he was killed."“

So what should the police have done???????????

This is what I have been saying.

STOP blaming the people that tried to help.

One day you will not receive help because it will be too risky and blaming.....

In all our discusions and media coverage it is suprising me that the phone call from the medical person houndreds of miles away, in the middle of the worst mass shooting in the nations history calls his friend to discuss "medications" and "alternatives". How that is not telling is amazing to me. There is a wealth of information in that call, IMO

What other concusion could one come to as it relates to medication in the middle of a homicidal/sucidal individual doing what he was doing?

I can not think of any "medications" , other than those that relate to mental illiness that would need to be mentioned in the middle of this. Who ever the medical person was, as others in his life have described since birth, are dsescritions of a very disturbed human being.

The call indicates that this person was aware of the severity of his problems. It indicates that the caller
-knew he was ill-
-was reccomended to take meds
-had been on meds
-recently stopped taking meds (my vote)
-has struggled with killing himself before --"alternatives"

At some point in this individuals life IMO, he was aware that her had pondered suicde on and off for some time.

What "alternatives" could this person be referring to other than getting killed by LE. He did not cower and run, like he had earlier, when the breach started. What did he do? He walked right out of the breach, firing to engage LE to kill him for him. Clearly suicide by cop.

IMO,Would anyone think that he actaully beleived that he would be able to shoot himself out of his sitution and get away? I cannot think of any other behavior that would encourage to LE to blast someone away than coming out blazing your gun at LE. Outcome is pretty clear. They did not have to come get him - he came to them.

In terms of marterdom walking into cops bullets is far different, in terms of pledging an alligence to a higher cause than blowing oneself . IMO It is a different message. mooo

WHy is mental so hard for people to acknowledge as being the core background of this.

The Paris guys did not have histories like his. IMO There histories revolved about travleing all over to overtly get training in commiting a terrorist attack. This is James Homlmes Batman stuff. Holmes was the Joker. OM was this big terrorist - both not in touch with reality. Holmes was not the Joker! OM is not this big terrorist.

He was hopeless individual that had decided he was done living.IMO. He struggled with his relationship with his father, who is clearly a a raging homophobe. What better way to please dad than go kill a bunch of homosexuals.

Certainly his father would embrace the Islam view on suicide. Here it is:

A person’s killing himself, that’s, committing suicide for this or that reason is neither accepted lawful reasonably nor religiously, and it is not permissible.

The F.B.I. said it had collected more than 600 pieces of evidence and conducted more than 500 interviews. One of those interviewed, Mohammad Malik, said that Mr. Mateen, a longtime friend, told him two years ago that he had listened to recordings of Anwar al-Awlaki, the radical American-born cleric who was killed in an American drone strike in Yemen. Mr. Malik told a reporter that he told the F.B.I. at the time, and the bureau investigated but did not bring charges. The F.B.I. has said it looked into Mr. Mateen in 2014.

Investigators continue to believe that Mr. Mateen acted on his own, inspired by extremist groups but not directly in contact with them. They are still looking into what his wife knew, to determine whether she should face charges.

Agent Hopper appealed for the public’s patience with a case so complex that agents were still combing the crime scene.

“This investigation is one week and one day old,” he said, “and it may last months, and even years.”

I was just wondering in other mass shootings if they released the actual 911 calls/tapes for the public to hear.

Yes all the time - we have followed police channels in real time. Think Pike COunty mass shooting . There calls were out the following morning.

They do it all the time- the 911.

IMO its not the 911 call. There was only one that was 50 seconds. I think the negiations would be far more telling moooo

The thing that pops into my mind is to protect themselves. All of this information and they just turned a blind eye. The more that is known and public makes us wonder HOW ON EARTH he just constantly kept being cleared and cleared over and over again.

That is what it makes me think, anyway. And I have to say I do believe that illegals and foreign residents are given a pass and seem to have rights that we don't have because it's politically correct. If it had been a born American they would have been watched way more intently and charged and imprisoned faster. Profiling has become this monster that is killing us. IMO

He was born in NY I think, in America from birth

What do you mean?

QUOTE:

"You know how in other attacks committed by real terrorists"

This terrorist is as real as the nightmares he caused when he shot over 100 gays he perceived as the infidels.

I think this was a mass shooting, commited by a very disturbed man, who deeply resented other gay men who were able to accept themselves and engage in the lifestyle that he could not accept himself. Shame and guilt.

Jeoulsy and rage at other out gay men.

All mass shootings terrorize. Santa Barbara (maybe wrong place!) was terrorized by Elliot Rogers.

Aurora was terrorized by Holmes.

Etc etc

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell set up a vote late on Monday to expand the Federal Bureau of Investigation's authority to use a secretive surveillance order without a warrant to include email metadata and some browsing history information.

The amendment would broaden the FBI’s authority to use so-called National Security Letters to include electronic communications transaction records such as time stamps of emails and the emails' senders and recipients.

NSLs do not require a warrant and are almost always accompanied by a gag order preventing the service provider from sharing the request with a targeted user.

The letters have existed since the 1970s, though the scope and frequency of their use expanded greatly after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.

The amendment filed Monday would also make permanent a provision of the USA Patriot Act that allows the intelligence community to conduct surveillance on “lone wolf” suspects who do not have confirmed ties to a foreign terrorist group. That provision, which the Justice Department said last year had never been used, is currently set to expire in December 2019.

McConnell says he expects a vote will be taken no later than Wednesday.

Senator John Cornyn of Texas, the No. 2 Senate Republican, pointed to a longstanding request by the FBI to expand the scope of electronic records -- such as web browsing history -- agents could sweep up from companies in terrorism investigations without obtaining a court order.

"They could go and get additional information, like metadata, who he’s e-mailing, the websites he’s accessing. Not content," Cornyn told reporters Monday.

Legislation dealing with the FBI’s surveillance powers -- something that has been requested by FBI Director James Comey -- could come to the Senate floor as soon as this week as part of a debate on the spending bill that funds law enforcement.

"This was the No. 1 legislative priority of the FBI according to James Comey, and those sort of additional surveillance tools could have provided the FBI more information, which would have allowed them to identify this guy as the threat that he obviously was," Cornyn said.
