Mass shooting outside billiards club in Miami leaves 22 injured, 2 dead

Police are seen outside a billiards club in Hialeah, Florida, after a shooting that left two dead and 20 injured. (CNN)

''(CNN) -- Police are looking for the assailants who opened fire at a Florida club, killing at least two people and wounding at least 20 more, Miami-Dade police director Alfredo Ramirez III said.

A white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up to a billiards club near Hialeah between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. Sunday, Ramirez said.

Three people "stepped out of the vehicle with assault rifles and handguns and started firing indiscriminately into the crowd," the police director said.

"The result is 20 to 25 victims with gunshot injury wounds, and two deceased on the scene."

The wounded were taken to various hospitals in the area. At least one of those hospitalized is in critical condition, police said.

"These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice," Ramirez tweeted. "My deepest condolences to the family of the victims."

TV personality and Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the mass shooting, the businessman tweeted Sunday.''

"We need our county to step up with information," Ramirez said.
"This type of gun violence has to stop. Every weekend, it's the same thing. This is targeted. This is definitely not random," said Ramirez.''

"Police said they're looking for a silver Nissan Maxima that may have been involved in that shooting.''

Well they found the car. But can they find the shooters? Honestly, in the video of the shooters getting out of and back into the vehicle, the one shooter looks like a little kid. The video of the victims standing there when the shooting starts and trying flee is terrifying!

''The shooting stemmed from an ongoing rivalry between two different groups, Miami-Dade Homicide Bureau Maj. Jorge Aguiar said Monday. The intended target was believed to have been standing in front of the concert venue when the shooting began, he said.''

''Surveillance video released by police shows the white vehicle come to a stop in an alley near the venue. Three armed people, all dressed in black, wearing face coverings and with their hoods over their heads, then exit the car and run off-screen. Less than 10 seconds later, the video shows them run back to the vehicle and hop in as the driver quickly leaves the scene.

Ramirez said Sunday the shooting at the club was "targeted" and was "definitely not random."

The Pathfinder had been waiting in the parking lot for 20 to 40 minutes before the shooting, he said Monday.''

''All of the people injured in the shooting were identified as Black and ranged in age from 17 to 32, according to a police news release.

The two people killed were both 26-year-old men, police said. Of the 21 people injured, three are in critical condition, three have been discharged and the rest remain hospitalized.

Investigators found the Pathfinder submerged in a canal Monday afternoon, police said. The vehicle was reported stolen on May 15.

I'd like to know whether the guns used in the shooting were legal or illegal and whether there was a race component involved, i.e., was this a hate crime or terrorism of some sort. The shooters were black, but I don't see whether the ethnicity of the victims. Although the news clip appears to show a black woman mourning. Cops in the video say they're anticipating a big gun crime Summer.

Site of Banquet Hall Mass Shooting Deemed ‘Unsafe', County Shuts Off Electricity
''County officials shut off the electricity Friday at the Northwest Miami-Dade banquet hall where a mass shooting the weekend before led to the deaths of three people and injuries to 20 more.''

"Tere Florin, a spokeswoman for the department, said inspectors found work done without permits and violations of the facility’s certificate calling for it to operate as a banquet hall.

Florin told the Miami Herald the violations were not directly related to the shooting or the concert that took place before.

“We don’t believe there’s any relationship between the shooting itself and the work that we’re doing,” Florin told the newspaper.

The development came one day after a third person, 32-year-old Shaniqua Peterson, died as a result of her injuries suffered in the May 30th incident.''

I hadn't checked on this case for a few days. I had heard one of the injured women had died. I'm not sure if that is the woman that falls between the cars in the video. I do see that they have determined that there were more than the three shooters. Miami has seen a real surge in violence the last few months. Hopefully someone will eventually come forward with some names. But these cases are tough for investigators.

Welcome Ringbearer. It appears the shooters are Black, at least the three in the video. There now appears to have been more shooters, but they are too far away in the video to really see. The victims as far as I know were also all Black. The police have said there was a "rivalry" between groups, or something to that effect. So I take that to mean this is likely gang affiliated. As for the weapons, we don't know since I don't believe any firearms have yet been recovered.

When you get to the point where you have to say out that out loud because, apparently, people ARE comfortable driving around with assault weapons to commit a crime in a stolen truck, it's time to stick a fork in your city. Apparently the cops are looking at two rival groups of rappers who have been feuding for years on social media and in their songs. Most likely gang related in some way as well. Quite a few of the high profile murders of rappers lately have been because of this. As far as the guns go, they were most likely illegal, i.e stolen or bought illegally.

I wish legal gun owners would protect their guns more responsibly so they couldn’t be stolen and sold illegally to criminals.
Unfortunately, even if that problem were solved, the issue will still remain that unless they have a felony conviction, criminals can legally buy guns too.

So this "mass shooting" has totally fallen out of the news and out of interest here. Keeping it in my tally of what types of cases people aren't interested in, even when multiple black lives are taken. Sad.

There have been mass shootings almost every single day this year with victims of all races. Most of them do not even get a thread here at WS anymore
