MISSING PERSON: Michael Connell

Missing person Michael Connell was last observed on May 29, 2025 at the Kismet Road & CR-445 intersection. Michael had a broken leg from a vehicle accident. He was wearing a brown camo jacket and dark blue cargo pants. Michael is known to frequent the Umatilla Library. Michael is described as a 5'9" white male with green eyes and short blonde hair, weighing approximately 185 lbs. Michael does not own a cellphone and his bicycle was found on July 23, 2025 at the corner of Kismet Rd & CR-445.

Deputies find bike of Lake County man missing since May

The Lake County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding Michael Connell. He was last seen on May 29

Deputies said a woman called them on July 23 saying they hadn't seen Connell since May 29.

Wednesday, after receiving a call from Connell's friend, deputies went to his last known location at the intersection of Kismet Road and CR-445 and found his bike.

"The last known location for Mr. Connell was in the woods. There is a lot to canvass," (Deputy) Early said.

"Investigators have used bloodhound canines and drones. Our Lake County deputies, detectives, the mounted patrol units have canvassed the area in search of Mr. Connell," Early said.

I don't think the driver's license photo is current, he looks a lot older in the other photo.
If this is him (name, county, age match) there was a court case when he was about 3 years old for his guardianship (guardian has same last name, so I assume a relative).

Since then, the only charges are (IMO) such as are sometimes seen in the homeless, trespassing/criminal mischief. Since his missing info doesn't reference a residence only that he may "frequent a library" I'm wonder if he is indeed unhoused. A broken leg on top of that, this poor young man. I hope he is found very soon.

I'm having trouble understanding why he would be on a bicycle at all if his leg was broken. If it has healed enough to be riding a bike, it seems not worth mentioning. That makes this have a staged feeling to me. IMO

I thought that as well, but there's no report that he was seen ON the bicycle, only that the bicycle was found where he was last seen. What is odd, is that the bike was found at that spot TWO MONTHS after he went missing. Bike pops up in Lake County nearly 2 months after owner’s disappearance
