A married couple was in their garage on Monday when deputies say a 19-year-old suspect savagely attacked them.

John Stevens III, 59, and his 53-year-old wife Michelle Mishcon were both stabbed to death.

A neighbor heard screams and ran out to help, but was stabbed as well. That neighbor was able to get away and contact police. When police arrived they said they found the suspect biting off parts of Stevens' face.

When officers found the man attacking Stevens III, they used a stun gun on him, but it had no effect. A K-9 officer also bit him, but that also failed to stop him.

The sms messages and the jail phone call recording were release to the public. Doe anyone know where those can be downloaded from? I have already searched the Martin County Courts with no luck. I am looking for the transcripts that the victims sister was reading in court on Monday.

While I agree that this kid was insane when he committed this horrific crime, the issue I have here is that he could end up back on the streets at some point due to the insanity defense. And, that is not acceptable. He should NEVER be allowed back on the streets again. I can't believe that anyone thinks this is a good idea. Terrible.

I agree completely that if he wasn't a white kid w/wealthy parents - he would have been killed by LE after the crime. And, we wouldn't even be discussing this case.

"A Florida frat boy who murdered a married couple and chewed the face of one of his victims could be 'freed within six months of entering a mental health facility,' after the 'cannibal' college student was deemed not guilty by reason of insanity this week.

Austin Harrouff, 25, claimed he had been fleeing a demon-like figure when he ran into a Tequesta home and attacked John Stevens, 59, and his wife Michelle Mishcon, 53, spitting out a piece of flesh when deputies arrived and finally subdued him.

At the time of the murders, Harrouff was 19 and had been found in the garage of the home with a machete, gnawing at Stevens face as he lay dying and covered in blood.

Mishcon's sisters, Cindy, told the New York Post that prosecutors had told them Harrouff could get out of a mental rehabilitation hospital in a matter of months after Monday's controversial plea deal was announced.

'They told us that he'll now go to some sort of mental hospital, but it's not a place where people are held for long. You go, you get treated, you get out.'

DailyMail.com spoke to Assistant State Attorney Anastasia Norman who worked alongside Brandon White on the case - who said the prosecution 'could not know for sure when a person is released' from a facility. "

Not surprising at all. So this entitled frat boy who committed a horrific crime is going to be out walking the streets again. Disgusting.

Typical that the authorities pick & choose who they decide to kill/assault when perps. commit horrific crimes. This piece of excrement should have been taken out when he was found eating those innocent people.

It's obvious that wealthy people like this can literally buy their way out of anything. Pathetic.
