BROOKSVILLE (FOX 13) - A Florida Forest Service ranger has been missing for two days and investigators are worried may be in trouble.

Hernando County deputies say 43-year-old Mitzi Babb, a seven-year employee of the Florida Forest Service, hasn't been seen for two days.

Deputies have named her boyfriend, Jeffrey Morrison as a person of interest.

She was last seen at her job as a park ranger in Brooksville on Tuesday at around 5 p.m.

Deputies and FDLE spent hours searching the woods off Croom Road, including sending a dive team into a body of water.

The last person she is known to be with is Morrison, who may be driving a dark Kia Soul with Florida tag 12CBT.

Appears he had a Out of State warrant he was arrested on in FL. Maybe, it was in GA. There is an address in GA that is posted as his. Gotta do some more digging!

Hernando County deputies say the body of a park ranger who has been missing for two days has been recovered, the sheriff's office said Friday.

The body of Mitzi Mariee Babb, 43, was recovered in a waterway in Camden County, Georgia.

Her boyfriend, Jeffrey Morrison, was named as a person of interest in her disappearance and taken into custody Thursday night in Hamilton County, Florida, which is just south of the Georgia border. He was arrested on unrelated warrants out of Georgia.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. - A woman's body was found Friday morning in a marsh along Interstate 95 in Camden County after a man told Florida authorities he'd killed his girlfriend and dumped her body in Georgia, deputies said.

According to the Camden County Sheriff's Office, the man walked into the Florida Agriculture Inspection Station in North Florida on Thursday night and told state officers that he would be wanted for killing his girlfriend.

He said her body would be found in the river near Exit 7 on I-95 in Camden County, Georgia, investigators said.

HAMILTON COUNTY, GA — The boyfriend of a missing Tampa Bay park ranger told Agricultural Officers in Hamilton County that he was wanted for killing his girlfriend, and directed authorities to her body in Camden County, Georgia.

According to the Camden County Sheriff's Office, the 911 center received a call Thursday night that a female body had been dumped near Exit 7 on Interstate 95 in Camden County.

State Officers from Florida's Agriculture Inspection Station said Jeffrey Michael Morrison walked into their station in Hamilton County Thursday night. He told officers he'd be wanted for killing his girlfriend, Mitzi Babb, and the body would be found in a Camden County river.

Crew members with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources spotted a body in the edge of the marsh west of the Interstate 95 Crooked River Bridge.

News Channel 11's Elizabeth Kuebel sat down with one of Babb's best friends from high school, who opened up about their friendship and the now devastating loss.

Matthew Clark talked to us just minutes after he heard the news that Babb's body was found in a Georgia waterway. As you can imagine, he was still in shock, but that didn't stop him from sharing the qualities he said made the 43-year-old mother so special.

While attending Elizabethton High, Clark and Babb were inseparable.

"She was just fun to be around, always happy, always positive, always saw the good in people," he said.

Clark still lives in the Tri-Cities. Babb, he says, moved to Florida several years ago, but the distance didn't break their bond.

"Every time I saw her and talked to her it was like that same person that I talked to when I was a teenager," he said.
