Deputies spent all weekend trying to track down Caballero. Seminole County deputies eventually found him dead at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning outside some apartments on Sabal Lake Drive in Longwood.

Two residents told FOX 35 News Caballero used to work maintenance at the Seminole County complex.

"He’s worked on our refrigerator, our oven, stuff like that - I know who it is for sure," said resident Joshua Hooper.

A person of interest in the disappearance of 19-year-old Florida woman Miya Marcano was found dead in his apartment on Monday, police said. Armando Manuel Caballero was a maintenance worker at the apartment complex where Marcano lives and works, and police said she had repeatedly rejected his romantic advances. He was last seen on Friday, the same day Marcano went missing.

"Our investigators suspect foul play," the Orange County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook. Caballero, 27, was found in an apartment in neighboring Seminole County, the sheriff's office said, adding that he appeared to have died by suicide. He was likely to have been dead "for quite some time" when his body was discovered, according to Sheriff John Mina. Caballero's car, found at the scene, was taken away by authorities as part of their investigation.

Miya had reportedly told friends that Caballero had been texting her excessively and she asked him to stop. After stopping, he reportedly started back up again.

"She did tell them that he made her feel uncomfortable," her cousin said.

Seminole County deputies said Caballero was found dead inside a garage used for storage of paint at Camden Club Apartments in unincorporated Longwood around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

According to a report, maintenance employees told Seminole County deputies that the last time the garage was entered by any of their staff was Friday evening. Investigators said Caballero entered the garage at some point after the evening of Sept. 24, but before Sept. 27.

Investigators today revealed Armando Caballero was found hanging in garage at Sabal Club Apartments in Sabal Point (Seminole County). The person of interest in Miya Marcano's disappearance was inside a garage where maintenance stores paint. Workers found him Monday morning.

Westmaas said she also had an unsettling encounter Saturday night with the person of interest in Marcano’s disappearance, Armando Caballero.

“He said, ‘Are you looking for Miya?’ I said, ‘Who are you?’ He said, ‘I’m her maintenance guy. I heard you are looking for me,’” Westmaas said.

Police said Caballero worked in maintenance at the apartment complex where Marcano also worked at. They said he made romantic advances toward Marcano that were repeatedly denied.

“He was infatuated with her, he was in love with her,” said Caili Sue, Marcano’s cousin. “I don’t know the very specifics, but he was constantly texting her.”

Local 10 News obtained video that appears to show Cabellero and his car the morning after Mercano’s disappearance. Family members said the pink blanked he’s holding in the video belongs to Mercano.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

On Tuesday, law enforcement fanned out across multiple apartment complexes in Orange and Seminole County in search of Miya Marcano. The 19-year-old who lives and works near UCF has not been seen since Friday. Here’s what we know:

1. Where & when Miya was last seen

Miya Marcano was last seen leaving work around 4:30 p.m. on Friday according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. She worked at Arden Villas and also lived there. Her family said she had a flight booked on Friday night to Fort Lauderdale, but she never made it onto the plane.

2. What Miya was last seen wearing

On Tuesday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office released an updated missing flyer showing a red “Preiss Co.” shirt that Miya was wearing when she was last seen on Friday. Law enforcement said she also had on jeans and a black hoodie before she disappeared.

3. Who is the person of interest in her case

4. What we know about Armando Caballero

Sheriff Mina said the maintenance master key fob that Caballero used was swiped to enter Miya’s apartment around 4 p.m. on Friday. That is 30 minute before she was set to get off of work.

The sheriff said Caballero does not have a lengthy criminal history and mentioned a former burglary charge in Polk County.

Miya Marcano’s aunt, Semone Westmaas, said she ran into Armando Caballero on Saturday. That is the same day that cell phone video was shot that appears to show him in an apartment complex parking lot. It was two days before he apparently killed himself.

“He was trying to leave. His lights was off. He said, ‘Are you looking for Miya?’ I said, ‘Who are you?’ He said, ‘I’m the maintenance guy. I heard you’re looking for me,’” said Westmaas. “I didn’t know who this guy was at the time.”

Semone Westmaas, Marcano’s aunt, said that community searches are widespread and they need more law enforcement resources to focus their efforts.

There’s “nothing in one specific area that we can say, ‘OK, we’re getting clues,’” Westmaas said. “We don’t know where to look at this point.”

Residents of the Arden Villa apartments in Orange County were sent an email saying law enforcement will be entering all occupied garages and storage units throughout the day, as had been seen by drone a day earlier.

The complex is near the University of Central Florida but surrounded by a heavily wooded area.
