PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A St. Pete mother is facing dozens of charges and potentially the death penalty after officials say she distributed child pornography featuring her pre-teen daughter.

The mother sent at least 14 explicit videos filmed between March and April of her daughter performing a variety of sex acts, including bestiality with the family’s pet dog, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said in a video shared on Facebook.

“The things that the mother did to the daughter are graphic, and they are grotesque,” Gualtieri said.

Investigators believe the rest of the victim’s family wasn’t aware of the ongoing abuse and that it didn’t extend to her other sibling.

The victim was permitted to stay in her father’s custody, but Gualtieri noted that the Department of Children and Families is “very involved” alongside other victim advocates.
