And I have to ask... how big was this freaking mall anyway,, that there have been *2* shootings in the parking lot in recent days and NO ONE HAS HEARD OR NOTICED?? I mean, how could you not notice? wouldn't the gunshot be heard from pretty far away?

I lived in Boca Raton for a little while and I actually worked at the department store Burdines/Macy's in this mall for 2 years. It's in a busy area and the mall is about the same size as other malls I have seen in other areas of the country. This is an affluent area. The mall has stores there are limited numbers of in the entire world. There are also a lot of tourists. From my persepctive, people go about their lives and don't pay much attention to others. I would say a gun shot would be unusual to hear, but either the traffic/noise and people not paying attention is the reason for the lack of information.

I last worked there 8 years ago so my information is obviously outdated, but I do know that there not much security. I never really felt afraid in this area. When I worked at night we tried to walk out in a group as a precaution, but again this was an affluent area. I want to say there were probably 2 or 3 security guards patrolling in SUV's during that time. I am sure that has changed and especially in light of these murders. I was reaslly surprised to hear of these crimes happening "there" but then again 6 years ago I was shocked when an elderly woman got drug up the main road off the mall trying to stop the man car jacking her.

Anyhow, I hope they catch the muderer and the family can finally have closure....

Having family and friends in the area, i can tell you it is still an affluent mall and the surrounding area is still very "nice". I can tell you that if I heard a gunshot, I'm not sure I would recognize it. Naive I know, but the truth.

Don't feel too naive - I feel the same way - especially in a busy mall parking lot - I may have just assumed a car had backfired.

He speaks fluent FRENCH and is 39 now born JULY 1,1969 so he would fit the late 20s or early 30s age,But may hold his age well and look much younger?

I think he is a promising match...

Yes and this is a big dot...

Brown, a toy salesman, was an extravagant spender and owned many expensive vehicles, notably an off-road jeep, cars and a fishing boat, a 2003 MasterCraft X-2, valued at approximately $40,000. He enjoyed water sports, driving dirtbikes, fishing and enjoyed going to parties and being the center of attention.

I hope they finally find the person/s who committed this heinous act. My husband gave Joey golf lessons and Nancy was asking when she was going to meet our daughter the day before they were killed. This time of year will always be tough because of the news of Joey's murder shortly before her birthday and two days before our daughter's birthday.

The mention of the hairless thing leads me to think he may be a SWIMMER?
A MODEL?
Something in the entertainment field...
or perhaps dances in a Gay bar ?
Or some other form of dance?
He does look a bit feminine doesn/t he from the sketch?

There is a large gay male population in that area, so it's very possible he gets a body wax, had hair electrolosis removal. He might be a dancer, or a gay guy, or a guy who has an aversion to his own body hair.

This chilling crime has always stuck with me.

Me too SouthCityMom. I remember seeing this featured on AMW's a while back and it always stuck with me. I really pray for justice for Nancy and Joey soon.

This is awful. I have a good friend whose 60-ish mom lives in Boca, and she is terrified to go to this mall, or anywhere, really, since this began.

OMG. What horrible human being would kill a mother and an 8 year old child?

The show is on again on E! so I thought I would give this thread a bump.

I have always wondered if this guy let Jane Doe and her son live because he may have had his own toddler son or has a toddler nephew. I know the theory is that she cooperated and that might be the reason why he let her go but I tend to think it goes a little deeper than that. There was some kind of emotional connection he made with these two people and I bet it was the baby considering he had no issue shooting Randi.

Serial killers tend to 'hunt' in areas they are familar. I wonder how closely LE has looked at employees at the mall. Security guards. I think this person knew there was no surveillance cameras in the mall parking lot.
I think this man prowled the parking lot looking for dark colored SUV's with tinted windows, picked one and waited. He chose his victims simply because of the car they drove. I am sure a few attempts have been thwarted because a man came back or a whole family. It just seems to difficult for him to target the women first because how would he know what they drove until they came to their cars. I tend to think he kinda takes a roll of the dice when waiting and if a woman, women or mother and child happen to be the drivers then he strikes. Obviously he chose tinted windows so he would not be seen on the roadways and when they went to the ATM.

I think maybe he watches the parking lot for a woman and a child in the right kind of vehicle to get out of the car and then waits for them to return.

Definitely, that makes sense too. Very creepy.

...and the use of the swimming goggles??

I wonder if the Jane Doe noticed his arms or legs. A lot of swimmers will shave all of their body hair. Without looking back at the stats I seem to recall that he was around 6'0, 170lbs which means he is pretty lean and that too fits with a swimmers body.

According to this article there was a 19 yr old woman abducted in Boca Raton from a different mall, Mizner Mall 3 days before Jane Doe and her son were kidnapped. The man forced the 19 yr old to drive to an ATM and withdrawal $200. The article only says 'then she got away' whatever that means. I hadn't heard anything about that abduction and as of right now that is the only mention of her ordeal I can find.

I was reading the transcripts from the Dateline and the interview with Jane Doe. It is interesting to read her account of his demeanor, the way he treated her with some compassion. The fact he did not seem familar with the roadways around the area is interesting considering statistically it is most likely he would be from the area but maybe not. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

2 years and still no answers. There's still a $350,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer or killers.

One investigator, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells NewsChannel 5 that the DNA has been processed and authorities are just waiting for a hit.

Nancy's sister talks about her sister and neice Joey. Sometimes she wants to think they are still alive....

"Maybe, by some miracle, it wasn't them in the car and I always have this hope that one day I'm going to wake up and they'll be there," says Bruno.

That is why the Bochicchio's suburban Boca Raton home hasn't changed.

The index cards that Joey was coloring the morning of the murders are where she left them.

The Christmas tree still stands with presents below.

"When you go on vacation you come home and you find your home the way you left it so... I know it's silly… but you just don't want to give up. You pray for a miracle," says Bruno.
