TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tallahassee Police Department is looking for a missing 60-year-old woman.

Nancy Brooks was last seen on Aug. 2 at the Greyhound Bus Station on W Tennessee St, boarding a bus bound for Salem, Oregon.

TPD says Brooks always wears prescription glasses and is possibly wearing a turquoise tank top and blue jean shorts.

She is 5'2", between 100-120 pounds, with auburn red hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tallahassee Police Department at (850) 891-4200.

Police: Missing 60-year-old woman hasn't been seen in two weeks

How long was Nancy supposed to be gone for? Who was she visiting in Salem?

That's a darn long ride on the Greyhound. Imagine how many stops were made. Crazy. Who the heck was going to pick her up ?? Didn't they check to see if she was ok ?? Anyone know what the Tallahassee Depot is like ? TIA MOO

I guess the first question is what time was she getting on the bus. If you go to the Greyhound site you can get 3 options for going from Tallahassee, FL to Salem, OR.
Home

The 1st leaves at 1:15 AM with transfers in Mobile, AL; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; El Paso, TX; and Los Angeles, CA. 71h 10m
The 2nd leaves at 6:50 AM with transfers in Mobile, AL; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; and Los Angeles, CA. 75h 55m
The 3rd leaves at 6:15 PM with transfers in Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; and Portland, OR. 76h 10m

Law enforcement should know whether she boarded the transfer buses. So they should be able to narrow down the segment she went missing on. There are stops of varying duration along each of the segments where she could have got off the bus and did not return to continue on. Whether they could determine where in the segment she left the bus and did not get back on is an open question and depends on whether there are cameras at the stops or not. I expect there are cameras at the make hub transfer locations.

I know, the distance is huge, about 2850 miles! She could be anywhere!

I should point out that all 3 buses stop in Mobile, AL but only on two of the three options do you transfer to a different bus. This would be the first place to check for whether she got back on the right bus or any bus.

Also, all three options stop in Pensacola (two of them for 5 minutes and one for 20 minutes) this would be another place to see if she got off the bus, if there are cameras.

Whoa! Just from Denver, CO to Portland, OR alone is as much as 19 hours 45 minutes!

It would really be helpful if they could tell us the time she was seen getting on the bus because then I would know what route (Greyhound calls a route a schedule) she was on.

ETA: Just because Greyhound offers 3 ways to get to Salem, OR from Tallahassee doesn't mean she had to take any of them - it would just cost her more and take longer to get to her destination. So, knowing when she was seen getting on a bus would identify where that bus was going.

You Rock Jethro !! You'd think the Greyhound people would be LE friendly, but some of their security is rent a cop or used to be. I thank God I haven't had to endure that nasty , cattle call mode of transportation for quite a few years. Hopefully Tallahassee PD is 10 steps ahead of us !! Thanks so much MOO

Initial missing statement says seen @ Greyhound Depot boarding a bus Aug 2. Does anyone know if Greyhound can track her to departure point if requested by LE ? Would that take a court order ? We don't know anything be about the investigation.... Praying for Nancy JMO

The Greyhound Dept would be perfect for a killer stalking his prey. And the level of security is rent a cop , hundreds of people linger waiting for the change of busses. Mostly downtown areas where you can buy everything you can imagine on the streets.MOO
