Perez was last seen at Burke's Motel on southwest 8th Street in Miami, Florida on June 1, 2012. She may have been living there at the time. She's from Highlands County in central Florida and her family stated she'd come to south Florida to live with a friend. She has never been heard from again.
Perez may be with a male companion. There was a possible sighting of her at the Dolphin Mall in Miami in August 2012, but this wasn't confirmed. Her family fears she became a victim of human trafficking, but little information is available in her disappearance.
