That implies something bigger in play. Something they didnt want found out. Cartel members usually dismember their victims.

I knew it! I think this man has killed before.

I'm not really feeling the "silence her" over (alleged) cartel involvement.

We know from the last kidnapping, beating, and threat to break NM's neck, that this was over NP texting with another man, and taking his son from defendant husband. (Keyword here is "son").

These men are all about bravado, control, and reputation among men. NP was viewed as his property, and she was publically defying him. In his culture, a woman can't do worse than this, and her murder was her punishment in the name of "Rivera."

Also, NP previously reported husband's abuse, requested and received protection order, and that was the perfect opportunity to "squeal" on alleged mob activity but instead requested Judge lift the protection order in the interest of her son.

No, this is not cartel silence stuff-- she wouldn't want her son around that, and wouldn't request protection order lifted.

ETA: Confirming already too many incidences of violence, escalated over several years.

Sheriff calls Florida mother's domestic violence death the worst he's ever seen | Daily Mail Online
In an interview with Fox News, Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson said Montalvo's cause of death has not been determined as of Thursday afternoon.

‘When this autopsy is done, people are going to be horrified,’ he added, saying that the medical examiner's report is expected to come out sometime next week.

‘I’m so angry what these people have done to this sweet woman, at a time in her life when she felt as though she had finally broken free and was so happy to have made her first month’s rent,’ Gibson said. ‘Now, she is dead.’

Court records show history of domestic abuse before St. Cloud woman's slaying

Oct 28, 2019

[...]

In August 2016, Otero-Rivera was charged with domestic violence battery for a June 16, 2016 incident during which Montalvo said they were arguing and he grabbed her hair and dragged her into the bedroom. Montalvo told deputies he head-butted her and slapped her face several times.

Deputies wrote in the arrest report Montalvo had bruises on her face, arm, hip and back.

On Oct. 4, 2018, Otero-Rivera was charged with kidnapping, battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after Montalvo reported he and another woman, Toni Rocker, kidnapped and beat her on Oct. 3, 2018, according to the Osceola County arrest report.

According to the arrest report, Otero-Rivera and Rocker pulled Montalvo from her vehicle and covered her mouth and nose. Otero-Rivera slapped her and held a knife to her throat and told her if she told anyone she would be “killed.”

Otero-Rivera later used the victim’s card to pay for gas before letting her go, the report said. She told deputies she noticed later her debit cards and cash were also missing.

Deputies who spoke to Montalvo said her face was swollen and red and she had dried blood on her mouth.

Florida sheriff calls woman's domestic abuse murder worst he's ever seen, calls for laws to change | Fox News

10/31/19

“When this autopsy is done, people are going to be horrified,” he continued, noting that autopsy results are expected next week.

But this was hardly the first allegedly savage encounter Montalvo had faced at the hands of Otero-Rivera, with whom she had filed for divorce. According to court filings, Montalvo sought the help of law enforcement on numerous occasions, and incidences of violence had escalated over several years.

She is said to have first filed for a restraining order in June 2016, alleging that her husband attacked their son, who was 5 years old at the time.

[...]

Photos of Montalvo sporting bruises and a neck brace were also included in court petitions, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The paper also reported that Montalvo had indicated in filings that Otero-Rivera had previously been involuntarily committed to hospital under the state’s Baker’s Act, which allows a 72-hold for those believed to be a danger to themselves or others.

Yet the worst incident came in October 2018. Montalvo told law enforcement that Otero-Rivera texted her about an urgent breakdown with his truck and that he needed a ride. However, he then led her to a barren area where another car with an awaiting female – identified as Toni Rocker and known to Montalvo – pulled up.

Montalvo was subsequently dragged from her vehicle and thrown to the ground. After her husband purportedly stuffed a cloth in her mouth and attempted to break her neck, Rocker was accused of holding a knife to her throat and threatening to kill her if she told anyone about the attack.

Wow, it's really affected that poor Sheriff. You can hear his agony and pain over what happened to her in his words. My heart goes out to all of LE that worked on finding Nicole.

May she rest in peace. What an awful ending to her life. Condolences to her son and her family. How cruel- this poor boy has lost both parents, per se- one in a violent manner, the other responsible for it and no doubt behind bars for life.

What scumbags. Sick scumbags.

It clearly has affected him. He is also up for re-election now, which is positive for the case in my opinion.

Nicole Montalvo's Husband, Father-in-Law Charged With Murder
Snipped- at least this reporter has it right BBM
Investigators said Otero-Rivera has a history of domestic violence against Montalvo. According to an Osceola Sheriff's Office affidavit dated October 4, 2018, Otero-Rivera, with help from another woman, kidnapped and attacked Montalvo after luring her under the pretense of needing a ride because of a dead truck battery.

Montalvo was taken to an isolated road in Poinciana, where she was thrown to the ground, attacked, and threatened over texts she sent to a friend and for "taking his (Otero-Rivera's) son," the affidavit said. About $40 and debit cards that Montalvo were missing after the alleged attack were found in Otero-Rivera's wallet, said St. Cloud Police, investigators wrote.

Multiple felony charges were filed, but according to court documents, the state declined to prosecute the more serious charges of kidnapping with intent to inflict bodily harm and robbery during a plea deal. And the judge withheld adjudication on Otero-Rivera for the charges of tampering with a witness to hinder communication to law enforcement, unlawful possession of a stolen debit card, and battery.

Otero-Rivera was under house arrest and probation at the time Montalvo disappeared.

The state should feel shame tonight IMO - this decision cost Nicole her life

So upsetting.
Now too late.
Surely Laws will alter regarding Domestic Violence, with all the murders being committed.
Perhaps, once the relationship goes South, ladies leave having the Law on their side, with harsh consequences immediately if their partners cause problems.
MOO.

LE implied they are all looking into other cases and victims. So all them would be domestic related too?

I dont see how anybody can be protected though through some petty court order. If somebody wants to do harm to you (man or woman) they will.

So, where is Grandma? The article said he lives with his parents at the warranted address, wft did granny think they were burying with a backhoe and/or sawing the poor woman up - if her remains were indeed found in 2 places. If grandpa drove her car 8 miles away so his loser sons ankle bracelet wouldn’t alert - how’d he get home? Me thinks not Uber.
Agree with you. The where is Grandma question is quite important. Have not seen her in any of the video footage shown so far. MOO

I agree, especially when these guys are on suicide missions. Obviously, this doesn't apply in this case because our perp is clearly too narcissistic to off himself. But unfortunately, a lot of men who kill their estranged wives end up killing themselves afterward, taking the cowards way out. It's virtually impossible to stop these types unless you can somehow manage to kill them first. But certainly a restraining order or the threat of prison time doesn't even phase the ones on a suicide mission.

Sorry for the poor children. They're the victims too. Rest peacefully, Nicole.

Me, too. Especially since I just read on @Seattle1 post that he even abused the son! He was also committed unvoluntarily to a mental hospital for 72 hours because he was possibly a danger to himself or others. So why was this animal allowed partial custody of this little boy?

She must have been so scared of him. That poor woman. She was probably scared he'd hurt her son, too, when she wasn't around. She was no match for him. And don't get me started on that woman that held a knife to her while he tried to break her neck. Sick animals, lock them all up and throw away the key!

Yes, we're aware of that.

I wish there was a solution that was fool proof and safe for a victim and their children so they don't have to worry every day, looking over their shoulders, waiting for another attack.

Maybe it's time to lock these animals up for life first time it's proven without a doubt that they caused this abuse. Once again, though, the victim gets re-victimized on the stand by defense attorneys.

What is the solution? How can we stop this? This isn't a new problem. It's been going on since my parents' generation back in the 1920's and so forth. Long before that, too.

A couple weeks ago (Oct 8, 2019), NM wrote the judge:

"I have a lot of trust in my in-laws because no matter what happens, they are always there for me and my son."

She believed she was moving on, making progress, and wanted her son with COR to be able to speak and communicate as a family.

She trusted the in-laws to facilitate for the family without the need for a court protection order.

This entire family are snakes in the grass.:(:(

How sad. She felt safe so long as his 🤬🤬🤬 murderer grandpa was there. They probably “always took care of her” to clean up their 🤬🤬🤬 murderer son’s messes. Just like this time, but it was beyond help.
