Cold case: Defense asks court to drop murder charge after 40 nursing homes reject Steve Bronson

Should demented suspect in 1979 St. Cloud torture-murder spend rest of life in nursing home?

So far, 40 of the state's 600 nursing homes have refused to accept Bronson after learning he is charged with the torture killing of Page inside the St. Cloud church parsonage she shared with her husband and two sons.

Judge says accused killer should leave jail for DCF care

The state agency previously objected to such a move, saying in court papers that Steve Bronson does not suffer from a treatable mental illness.

DCF has said it can only accept defendants in such cases who can rehabilitated so they can be declared competent to stand trial.

Why can't he be housed in a prison' s medical wing? Not all prisons have them, but they could find one somewhere and do a swap.
