Interesting that the red sleeping bag was covering the body. Makes me think he was covered up from the cold during winter. He would not have been covered up in the summer, even in north central FL. It would be too hot. Plus he was wearing sweatpants and he probably wouldn’t be wearing those in summer either.

The profile says he was buried. Maybe thrown in a hole, sleeping bag on top before being covered by dirt?

Oh I skimmed right over that! Good point. I wonder if it’s classified as a homicide? One does not bury one’s self.

You did an excellent job! I corrected a few things in the thread title, but that’s no big deal. You’ll get better at the format. I hope you stick around to create more threads. :)

Let me know if I’m ever able to help.

NamUs states he was buried but I don't see that mentioned in the other two sources you linked. I'm not sure which source to go off of.

I know. The sleeping bag didn't really look buried, did it? Also, the SE 13th Street and SW 6th Avenue of Ocala is in the old historic part of town. Older, nice homes, many $$$. I don't see somebody being able to bury a body in an empty lot in the middle of town there. More like a homeless guy found a spot to camp in somehow and he passed away.

That's what I'm leaning towards as well. The poor dental care also points in that direction.

The Ocala Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify a man who was found deceased 24 years ago.

Medical professionals examined the remains and determined that they belonged to a white male in his 40s who had “distinctive dental features” that included missing teeth and a gap between his upper front teeth.

These reconstructions dont look super modern, i wonder how long these have been around for

I think that was a typo. All other articles say SW 13/6th. That's in West Ocala/Jones Side; not the affluent downtown.

But I also checked out the GPS coordinates given..... which show close to SE 31st Street, by the bridge going over tracks near Lake Weir Avenue. That is actually only a few streets over from where I live; but I think 2000 doesn't line up with the infrastructure of this area. There was a lot of stuff going on about 2005-2010, but not since the 1970s before that.
